It has been a dream of mine to go to attend Clapton's Crossroads event since its inception in 2004. The genre that most lights a spark in me is blues music and rock and roll that is blues inspired.

I have seen VG in the DVD for the last event and he was so good, he made me proud to have have his representing country music, but also embracing the the blues influence of some of my fave songs, such as Mystery Train.

Now if I could just get VG, EC and Jimmy Page on stage to jam to Train Kept a Rollin' together, rest assured that if I met my maker just afterwards, I would have a smile. Ummmm, perhaps that was a lil' exaggeration, I should have requested their jammin' to "Sweet Home Chicago" too. LOL.

I was giving strong consideration to attending, what came as a surprise is that EC announced a partial US tour too, which includes 2 nights at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Fla. in March. As much as it pains me to say this, when I think about what it would cost for me to fly to NYC, show tickets, expenses, and esp. the cost of a hotel, decided to see EC here in March.

Geez, for the cost of the NYC gig, I could see both shows here, hire a limo from Miami to Hollywood for both nights and likely ask that lobster and champagne be awaiting me for the route. Lol, not that I would ever do something so frivolous. What hurts is not being able to see VG and many of my other faves that will be there too.

I have had the pleasure and honor to be involved in some fund raising events this year for charity. I am currently about to send off 2 large boxes of stocking stuffers for cancer patients that will be in the hospital this Christmas. As a result of having the most awesome people in my life that one could hope for, this box is more like stocking stuffers on steroids, lol. When I think about how these loving gestures will bring a smile to someone facing the challenges of a diagnosis such as cancer, it truly does serve as a reminder that often what I think is a problem, is not.

Hoping there are still tickets left to see VG in Fla, if and when I can pull this off too, but if it was meant to be, it will happen, if not, I will wait and give gratitude for what I have.

It's still early so he could still add some more FL dates. Heck, he was in Houston and Austin in Aug, then came back and played in San Antonio in either Sept. or Oct. When we were still in FL, they hadn't yet added the amphitheater at the Hard Rock in Hollywood. That wasn't very far from me at all. First time I saw Vince, it was at CB Smith Park, which was about 5 minutes from my house...in fact my grandfather used to water the lawn at night after the park opened. Last place I saw Vince in FL was at the Panthers Arena in Sunrise...it was his and Amy's Christmas show...before that it was Pompano...that was Vince and he did have an opening act that time.

Happy to say, I will be seeing VG in Ft. Pierce 0n 1/24 Happy Birthday to me! It is only one day after my birthday, what a great way to celebrate. LOl, I guess turning 54 is more of a triumph of survival than celebration.

This will be about an 80 mile drive from Miami. I do not do this for just anyone, but VG is a top fave.

Woops, guess I derailed this topic, sorry y'all.
