Isn't this great news?? I was so happy to open my new issue and see that These Days is this week's "Critic's Choice"!!!! Here's what the whole review says:
A four-disc set of new material would surely amount to an exercise in excess for most any performer, but Vince Gill boasts the artistry to match his audacious ambition on "These Days". Writing or cowriting all 43 songs, Gill displays remarkable versatility, stretching out from country and bluegrass to rock, pop, jazz and gospel. Along the way he gets help from an all-star array of guests, including Sheryl Crow, Diana Krall, Bonnie Raitt and Gretchen Wilson, not to mention wife Amy Grant. But Gill - who gets to show off his underrated guitar playing as well as his strikingly clear and true tenor - remains at the core of it all. Fully appreciating this work entails an investment of time, but you will be amply rewarded with days and days of listening pleasure. (Four Stars). (Reviewed by Ralph Novak). |

Now that is just about the best review I have read. That one guy who implied that Vince didn't let the guest artist shine ( so to speak). The People article stating that Vince is at the core of it all.
Thanks Hilary . -------------------- "Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it a rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul."

I'm so, so happy for Vince. He is so deserving of all the praise on this wonderful 4 disc set. I just love all the songs. You would think radio might realize they need to change ~~ there are a lot of people that would welcome some new music -- ESPECIALLY from VINCE GILL.

Thanks for posting that review Hilary. That is the best review I have read. To echo what Anna said, I love the way Vince was recognized to be at the core of all of the music.
