A Long Day For 5 minutes on T.V!!!!!!!!! Options

I went to the Tonight Show to see Vince @ NBC Studios in Burbank Nov. 13th. I arrived at the studios just as sound check began at 10:30a.m. Vinces crew had already been there setting up the equipment for hours. They ran through the song twice after much checking of all instruments & amps. A lucky NBC Tour group was there just in time to see the gang run through the song. It was now 12 noon & off to the NBC comissary. They had until 1:30 p.m. when it was time to rehearse the camera shots. I ran into a few of the band & crew in the NBC store & just milling around checking out the sets & props. I almost walked onto the Access Hollywood set by mistake. Now they ran through the song twice more so the camera shots & angles could be rehearsed. Now two more hours to kill before 4:30 showtime. I had a front row seat on the upper deck looking right down on the band. Leno warmed up the crowd for about ten minutes & now it was show time!!!! Leno did his opening, then Monday headlines & then an amazing looking for her age Sharon Stone came out. Patricia Arquette bored the crowd & then it was Vinces turn. The band & Vince ALL sounded great. It was a cool hang as Particia Arquette mugged for photos after the show with fans. I got to meet "Stuttering John Menendez" from the Howard Stern Show who now is Lenos' M.C. Talked to Kevin Eubanks the Leno band leader & told Vince what a great day I had at the show.FUN DAY!!!!!

I have a connection @ NBC that hooks me up once in a great while so I don't abuse my hookup I save it for cool times like this. I saw the NCB the same way

That's so neat, Reggie!!! It is interesting to know what all goes into a 'one song' tv performance...sounds like it's alot of work, since it takes most of a day just to get that 5 minutes on the screen!!! Thanks again for sharing your day at The Tonight Show with us...what a wonderful experience you had!!! I love The Tonight Show...especially the Monday Night Headlines and when he has animal visitors on the show...Jay is so funny...he seems like a really nice guy too!!!

I've been about 12 or so times & Leno has never had the same car twice!!!!!! I've also met Jay a couple of times & he ALWAYS was very friendly. One of Vinces' crew guys was walking down the hall wearing some really funky shorts. Jay made fun of him & told him he won the silliest shorts contest of the day. He was so proud of the fact that Jay Leno had made fun of HIM!!!!!!!!!!!

That's funny, Reggie!!! Always wondered how Vince got along with folks like Jay...I should think they would have some lively conversations, since they are both so quick-witted...LOL!!!
