Well, it was my second weekend of 2 Vince concerts in a row...and I was super excited!! First I went to Hanford and that show I had my meet and greet smile.gif !!! The venue was really cool, small, quaint and flash photography was A okay!!! That was awesome!! We had great seats and the show was amazing as usual!! A couple of things that stood out to me was that he was singing Oklahoma Dust and Lets Do Something....I had not really heard him perform those live in past shows....they were both great live!!! He also sang a song called "Willin'" that was an old trucking song as he called it!! He did a fantastic job on that as well smile.gif After a fun night of about 2 hours and 15 minutes of music it was time for my meet and greet!! I have met him a few times before, but was just as nervous!! I had some things I wanted to say, so I tried to calm myself down...haha !!!! When it was my turn I went up and told him that I was always so nervous that I never tell him my name....and so then I introduced myself...he gave a little smile and laughed a bit!!! He signed the things I brought and we took our picture together!! Then I asked him if I could ask a quick question...he said of course!!! I told him I was going to be in Palm Desert the next night and asked him if at all possible if he could play "Bread and Water" .....one of his new songs!!! He said sure, I can do that!! I said, just if you remember....and he stopped, looked at me and said....I promise I will play it and smiled!!!! So.....the next night in Palm Desert I had butterflies....so excited to see if he was going to play it!! He had a rough night because one of the buses broke down on their way there and so they were all sleep deprived. I was thinking he may not remember and I wouldnt blame him...he had a long night. HOWEVER.....all of sudden he started talking about his brother and I KNEW what was coming!!! He even said that he got a request for this song....and then HE SANG BREAD AND WATER!!! My eyes filled up with tears!!!! I love love love that song....and the fact that he remembered to play it just made my heart smile inside smile.gif I will never forget that!! I am forever grateful!! It was a great show....and as you all know, Vince Gill is a great man smile.gif smile.gif
oh...and all 4 shows I went to over the last couple weeks Jenny Gill sang....and boy can that girl SING!!! She is awesome!

Krissie, it sounds like you had an awesome time! How fortunate you are to be able to see him four times in only two weeks! WOW! I have not heard Bread and Water yet, but I want to so much. Where can I hear it other than in person?

Thanks for the report on your great evening and your M&G! Maybe I'll get to see him again soon! I'm hoping!!

Krissie,I don't know how the man does it but he does have an amazing memory. Just think of all the songs he has to remember .

Also in regard to Jenny,Vince said when she sang Let There Be Peace on Earth she had a better voice at that age than he did.

Well you certainly had a Vince filled weekend .What fun.Love that guy

Ok......since I was also at the Hanford Concert (w/Krissie), I will give my 2 cents of the concert!! smile.gif I had row 5 seat on the aisle!!

Just seeing Vince walk out on stage smiling and starting to sing, just gives me the goosebumps. My eyes almost water up because I am just so happy to see him in person and to hear his angelic voice, there is nothing like it on earth!! Everything he sang was GREAT, but a few songs stood out for me.....Whenever You Come Around, Take Your Memory With You, Hard to Kiss the Lips At Night, Key to Life, When I Call Your Name, Oklahoma Borderline, Liza Jane. Those were fantastic....ones I love to hear sung live!! I was a super happy camper that evening......

I will say when he sang "Willin"....I had never heard that song but it suited him SO well. I was almost taken back by how great his vocals were and how great the band sounded. He should record that song!!!!! smile.gif
Actually the song sounded like it could have been done in the PPL days!!

I had the privilege of meeting him for the 2nd time that night!! It is always so nerve wracking, when he walks into the room!! I told him I met him last year in Santa Rosa and wanted him to sign our picture. He said, Oh yeah I remember Santa Rosa. He asked me about the venue and I can't even remember what I mumbled back to him. (What that man does to me?!) I could see him studying the picture, maybe trying to remember more. I know he was in a bit of pain that evening because he sat the whole concert. Poor Vince.... At least he looked pain free this year, from what I could tell!! I got picture #2 with him and snuck my arm around his back!! LOL!!! wink.gif

I am a truly blessed girl........can't ask for anything more than listening to Vince live and meeting him!!

Jeni

PS -- Actually this was my 3rd time meeting him! The first time was in 1979 when he was with PPL and I was 4 years old....very vague memory!!I just remember his long hair and smiling face......ahhh....... smile.gif

It's so fun hearing about the Hanford concert, 'cause that's where he was headed after playing in Redding on Friday, the night before. Thank you for the fantastic reviews! He also sang 'Bread and Water' in Redding and I tell you, you could've heard a pin drop it was so moving and beautiful. My friend Cathy cried, and I could see a lot of people dabbing their eyes (me included!). I hope he includes the song as a single in his next CD!!

So happy you guys enjoyed the shows as much as I did, Krissie, Val-entine and Jeni. I can never hear enough. biggrin.gif

You were so fortunate to be able to go to so many shows in such a short period! I keep hoping he will come back to the NW again like he used to every summer to the Puyallup Fair or at least to a casino around here! laugh.gif

Shirl, I'm waiting to hear "Bread and Water", too! I've heard great comments about it, but haven't had the chance to hear him sing it. Maybe soon!
