2/26/2013 12:34:48 PM

Oklahoma native Vince Gill makes his way onto the small screen Wednesday night when he'll play himself in the hit ABC music drama ' Nashville .'

Other Nashville-based hitmakers also will appear, including Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys , Pam Tillis , Kate York and Kip Moore .

The episode, 'Dear Brother,' includes a surprise birthday party for character Deacon ( Charles Esten ) and was filmed in mid-February.

'I had a really fun time hanging out with the cast and crew,' Gill said in a media statement.

'I really do enjoy watching the show and I think it's great for Nashville. Plus, I was playing myself which wasn't a big stretch.'

“Nashville” stars Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, Clare Bowen as Scarlett O’Connor, Eric Close as Teddy Conrad, Esten as Deacon Claybourne, Jonathan Jackson as Avery Barkley, Sam Palladio as Gunnar Scott, Robert Ray Wisdom as Coleman Carlisle and Powers Boothe as Lamar Wyatt.

Also, the episode will be on ABC.com the day after air for users to watch online.

Most of the networks put their shows up online the day after it airs. Think the only exception is FOX, which makes you wait about 5 days after it airs. And I also noticed that CBS doesn't put all it's comedies online, but they do put their 1 hour shows online.
