Well it is gettting to that time of year again where we start the planning for june. I am not absolutely positive that I am going this year but I know that the planning needs to get under way just in case. Since most of the tickets for events have already gone on sale I am stressing about what to do so that I can still have good seats in case I do get there. In checking availabilty at the hotels downtown all I could find were 2 rooms at the Hampton Inn near Vanderbilt University. After staying downtown last year I realized that it is really the way to go if you are giong to the Coliseum shows so I am aiming to find a room somewhere in the center of it all. For now I do have the rooms booked at the Hampton Inn which is almost 2 miles from the Coliseum. I am hoping that some rooms get released for one of the other hotels that is closer but only time will tell. I also went ahead and ordered 2 tickets for the Saturday night Opry early show as that is something that I always love doing while in Nashville. If I can't make it I will see the tickets later on.
So who is going this year....where are you staying...do you think there will be a fan club party? So much to think of and before we know it the time will be here.
Katie and I are planning on getting our husbands to commit to going to Nashville while we are together in Florida in March. We figured that we better start planning now and possibly order our plane tickets while we are together so that the guys can't back out when we get home....tricky tricky..I know!!

I will be going as far as I know now. Sara,her 2 daughter's and grand daughter and friend. I am praying for a fan club party. I really didn't want to go to the stadium shows but sometimes Sara got tickets. Oh well if I don't want to use it maybe I can sell it.

As for where we are staying Sara always gets the Comfort Inn.Don't ask where.It's about 3 miles from down town.

Glad you are making the trip again anna.....it is always such a good time. Have you been to the nightly shows before at the Coliseum? I had no desire to go before because there was always so much to do but my friends talked me into it last year and we all loved it. We are going to go to the nightly shows again this year as well. We sit up in the club section....not the closest seats but there have a nice closed in section if it rains and the atmosphere up there is great.

I would love to go..In fact I've taken that time away from work already in hope that there would be a Fan Club party.....I've not been to Fan Fair since it was at the Fairgrounds....With it being downtown now, I've not got a clue as to how things work.....I'd need to go with some veteran's so that they could show me the ropes lol Nothing worse than going somewhere & missing half of what's there because you don't know the in's & out's of the event....maybe one day I'll make that maiden voyage....lol Still holding out hope for a Fan Club party though....

Well ruth....there are quite a few of us that have gone several years in a row. This thread has been a wealth of information to all of us and has helped improve our trips a great deal with tips on places to stay, shows to see etc.
Hopefully we will find out about a Fan Club party soon enough so that people can start planning their trips for sure.
Just keep checking back to this thread and hopefully alot more info will be forthcoming.

Me and my husband are going....everything is all bought and paid for! We stay by the opry and park at the coliseum with a parking pass. Much ...much...cheaper! I can think of many other things to do with my money than to spend it on a motel room that we only sleep a few hours in.

My sister and I are going.

Joyce....we are staying out near the Opry as well. The price is definitely right and it is convenient to be close to the Opry and the Mall. We are staying at the Country Inn (can't beat $107 a night including breakfast ).

Well..If I ever won Lotto 649 or Super 7 or that CASH FOR LIFE scratch ticket, that would be the only way I could ever afford to get to FAN FAIR...and be lucky and saw Vince then ...LOL...
