Full Version: George Strait 3rd Single
The Nineteenth Hole > The Nineteenth Hole > Off Topic
cbjones001
FYI:
Not sure if it's officially released yet but "Wrapped" is already flying up the media base charts for George Strait - at #38. His 3rd No.1 from this CD?
"Give It Away" & "It Just Comes Natural" already topped the charts.
(Vince and George's CD's came out within two weeks of each other)

King George is in the "over 50" crowd and seems to be one of the few older stars that has no problem getting airplay.

I like the latest song (I am a Bruce Robison fan - he wrote it...on his CD too). Bruce seems to get a lot of artists that release his songs like "Angry All the Time", "Traveling Soldier", "Desperately" and "What Would Willie Do" being a few released by other country stars that "cover" Bruce (married to Kelly Willis and his brother Charlie is married to one of the "Chicks").

I like George But IMO He sounds the same in all his songs.Vince can write, play, sing with just his guitar and still sound great.I always felt George was promoted a lot more then Vince and It is not fair! I feel MCA should get behind Vince like they do George. Are they blind?Vince never sounds bad live no matter what he sings.I guess some people agree with me lol look at his grammy's and all his other awards.George has other people wrte songs for him,Vince writes his own! And he just gets better even without constant radio play.Good for George but vince is the best too me lolo hugs Mamabear

Mamabear,
I understand how you feel.
I too have a lot of respect for artists like Vince that can sing, play and write their own songs.
But, I do like George - even though he's "just" mainly a singer (Elvis was "just" a singer too smile.gif ).
George has always fit the mold of "singing cowboy"....I suppose I like that compared to some of the other country artists of today.
However, no one holds a candle to Vince! smile.gif

LOL.
Well, as a guy here I try not to concern myself with how "sexy" the artists are - even George. Now that Leann Womack is nice! smile.gif
However, I do find myself wishing I looked a bit more like George Strait! Is that wrong? smile.gif

I wouldn't mind looking like Lee Ann ,Charlie ,so I think there's nothing wrong with looking like George Strait.

I heard Tanya Tucker make a statement about when she was on tour with him several years ago. She said,"George looks good coming and going wink.gif .I would agree. cool.gif

George is my #1 and I love the song. I was hoping for "Why Can't I Leave Her Alone?" but "Wrapped" is a good choice. biggrin.gif
