They haven't announced any performers yet. I'm sure they are working behind the scenes to make sure the writers strike doesn't affect the Grammys. We will just have to wait and see who will be performing.

Bad news. This was in the Tennessean:

One star you won't see — unless something changes — is Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill, who is up for overall album of the year and country album of the year. I've been told that he was offered several performance scenarios, none of which were worthy of his stature or nominations. Word is one offer was a 90-second performance slot.

Larry Fitzgerald, Vince's long-time manager, acknowledges that he "is disappointed that Grammy producers chose not to offer Vince an appropriate role on this year's Grammy show. Apparently Vince is the only artist up for album of year in all genres that is not performing."

All I can say is that it's outrageous to let all the other AOY nominees perform full sets, but only offer Vince 90 seconds! Cut out some of the *other* performances, like Rap/hip hop and give the country artists their due by letting them perform their hit songs! Country music is *still* treated like the ugly stepsister in the music business, and it's not right, especially since a lot of country artists have outsold artists in other genres, yet they're still relegated to 'back-burner' status at the major awards hows.

RIDICULOUS!!!!!! My guess is that he won't have a shot at the AOY if this is the thought process of the Grammy awards.
