biggrin.gif This parody was written by my daughter's boy friend. Sing it to the same tune. I thought it was great . The sight will explain all about how he came to write it the way he did. Enjoy...........It's really quite good.

laugh.gif I thought maybe if I posted this more people would be able to read it. There's a lot of different things on the site.

"In The Ghetto" Based on the performance by Elvis Presley
"Espresso" Parody by Ben Smith
I come up with this idea while awakening on a sleepy rainy weekend Seattle area morning. Seattle is the home of Starbucks and this is when the whole espresso craze was in full swing. The Eastside (across Lake Washington) is home of Microsoft and money. Hope you enjoy.
As the snow flies
On a cold and gray Seattle morn
Another little coffee stand is born - espresso

And the East-siders sigh
Cuz if there's one thing that they don't need
It's another young man on caffeine - espresso

Oh people don't you understand
This man needs a helping hand
He's gonna grow to be a cranky old fart some day
Take a look at you and me
Are we too wired to see
Do we simply turn our heads and sip the other way

And his stomach churns

And the stressed-out yuppie, coffee stains on his clothes
Speeds down 405, whipped cream on his nose - espresso

And his tongue burns

So he starts to roam the streets at first light
He downs double shots and he's wound up tight - espresso

Then one day in desperation
The young man breaks away
He steals a steamer and coffee too
Then jumps into his BMW

And the foam flies

And a crowd gathers around the dying young man
Face down in the street, broken mug in his hand - espresso

And as the yuppie dies
On a cold and gray Seattle morn
Another little sidewalk stand is born - espresso

And Starbucks sighs
