Anyone watching the new season of Survivor? I was reading the Survivor newsgroup and someone said that in an interview Jeff Probst said that this is the dumbest group of survivors EVER when it comes to Idol play: http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2008/08/survivor-gabon.html

As for the clothing choices (suits for the guys, skirts/dresses/short shorts for the women), the contestants don't have a say in what they wear...wardrobe chooses their clothing that they'll be wearing, hence why you have women in skirts and stilletos in the middle of nowhere freezing half to death. One of the contestants of Survivor China said that one of the women didn't even get a bra to wear under her shirt/blouse!

Also this season they've already had a 'wardrobe malfunction' with one of the guys (apparently his shorts weren't zipped while he was running or they didn't have a zipper....that's about all I'll say), and it's created an outcry from the Parent's TV Council...not that it was something that most people would have noticed during a regular TV broadcast...it was probably discovered by someone who had recorded the show and then played it back in HD/slow-motion.

I have been watching Survivor and I haven't seen anything like that on there. My Survivor here in Ohio is on at 8PM Eastern on Thursday.

Joyce,

Believe me, a normal viewer wouldn't have noticed that 'wardrobe malfunction'...you'd have to view it in slow motion HD to notice it...or go searching for it on the internet. I was watching and I didn't even see it, not until I read about it on the Survivor newsgroup and they posted a link to the story and a slow motion video on the internet of the 'wardrobe malfunction.' Survivor comes on here at 7pm since we're central time.

I've been watching both Survivor and The Amazing Race. I thought Survivor seemed to get off to kind of a slow start as far as excitement, but it always takes a little time to get attached to the characters. Last week was better. Without A Trace also started a couple of weeks ago, and Jack has been demoted because of what happened last season. The actor who was on "Wings" is playing the head of the department. It looks like they may hook Jack and Samantha together again. Maybe??

I've been watching WOAT and TAR, also, along with Dancing with the Stars.

This week on Survivor, they're going to do a switch on the tribes, but apparently there's some kind of twist cooked up by their "resident switch expert." From the previews they've been airing on TV, could there be a tribe of all blondes?! For anyone who's interested, Jeff Probst is blogging about the show this season. You can find the links here There are also some other blogs about Survivor on the same page.

Also, Fang needs to get rid of GC, who's basically good for nothing...instead they voted out one of the more athletic members who didn't actually give up during the competitions like GC did/does! I can definately understand why they got rid of Gillian...she wasn't good for much, either, just like GC. I don't think I've ever seen anyone give up during challenges like GC has in the first 9 days!

And on Amazing Race...how about Tina, the one who kept insisting to the other teams that *she* was the one who convinced the airline to get a bigger plane??! I just had to roll my eyes and go 'oh brother...!' Sorry, I don't think they got a bigger plane because she told them that they *needed* to be on that flight.

LOL Val, I thought the same thing about Tina on the Amazing Race. Quite an ego. I like the mom/son team, but hope the mom can keep up with him.

I like the mother/son team, also, especially after they were the only ones to stop and help the team that couldn't find the taxis.

Fang is sinking faster than the Titanic, even*after* the switch they *still* can't get it together in order to win a challenge! Fang now has Crystal, Kenny, GC, Ace, Matt, Kelly & Jackie. During the challenge the *only* two who were actually useful were Jackie and Ace, and who do the go and vote off? Jackie! There's no way this tribe is going to survive with only one player who's useful in challenges! Fang now gets Sugar, who was sent to Exile Island since she wasn't chosen to be on either tribe. Now, if I was picking, knowing how useless GC is for *everything* if I were Fang, I would have picked Sugar over GC...at least Sugar is useful.

I was very surprised to see Jackie voted off tonight. I thought it would be Kelly, but the others are afraid of a Sugar, Ace alliance that may have involved Jackie.

I know they are...but the idea with the tribes is to keep the tribe strong enough to win challenges, and they're not doing that. It seems like it's GC and Kenny that are bringing that tribe down, because even with the switch, they still can't win challenges.
