Besides me, I don't know how many Vince fans are also fans of Buddy Guy...Vince being country and Buddy being blues....so I am not sure how many readers of this site are all that interested in Buddy....I love 'em both because both bring so much emotion to the guitar....and I have had the good fortune to see both of them in concert about the same number of times...last night I saw Buddy play in his blues bar Legends in Chicago. It was just AWESOME! For an old guy, he rocked that house! For any guy---he rocked that house! If any of you are in Chicago Legends is worth the stop....it is 754 S. Wabash right behind the Hilton that is right downtown on the lake front (720 S. Michigan Ave). We parked at the Hilton and had a few drinks there and then went to Buddy's for the show. So many famous people have played that place...Clapton, the Rolling Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughn, John Mayer, ZZ Top, Bo Didley, Van Morrison, Willie Dixon, Greg Allman, the Pointer Sisters....and the place is filled with tons of signed memorabilia that we did not have enough time to really get to look at. It is like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame only better. We plan on going back soon just for lunch (I heard they do good cajun) so we can check out all the stuff on the walls and buy a souvenir t-shirt. I hear he is building a new place he is moving to....I don't know how soon that is happening. In the meantime Legends on Wabash is worth the stop if you are in town.
Cool!!! I am a VG fan but also a guitar fan!!! I got to see Buddy Guy @ the first Crossroads Festival. If you watch the Hank Williams Jr Tribute on CMT Buddy walks over to the side of the stage after his Steve Tyler jam. He walks over to hand me his guitar pick! Cool deal
