As most of you know, the new Dallas Cowboys stadium hosted their first event over the weekend...George Strait, Reba, Blake Shelton, Julianne Hough and a surprise appearance by Lee Ann Womack. If it wasn't bad enough that ticket prices ranged from $80 - $200, it also cost $40 to park!!!! Uh, it might have actually been cheaper for people to fly to Dallas and take a cab to the stadium than to drive and park, with the cost of gas (almost $3 a gallon) and then the $40 to park...!

It's hard to understand how every day, middle class people will afford to EVER go to any event at the new stadium!! I live in Fort Worth, and I'll be watching football at home on my big TV

The parking that's closest to the stadium is $70.00. Have you looked at what the prices are for a seat to a Cowboy game? Outrageous!!
I'm glad our Vince is just playing the casinos, and other "regular" places!
Well, Val, Jerry Jones owns the Cowboys. What's surprising about that? If you know anything about Jerry Jones, it's all about the money with him. Besides, as a Giants fan, I hate the Cowboys. Sorry all you Texas people but that's the way I feel. I'm kind of disappointed in the Okies, like Reba and Blake, who took part in this concert.

Joan,
I don't really follow football that much, but my father does and he does NOT like the Cowboys...he's a Dolfan (Dolphin's fan) and if I had to pick a team, the Dolphins are who I'm always rooting for in any game they play in. The only sports I really like are figure skating and gymnastics, but I do root for any team from Miami...
I just thought that was a rediculous amount to pay for parking on top of the steep concert ticket prices, although I did read that there were some seats that were going for around $39, so in essence, those people who bought the $39 seats paid more to park than they did for the concert ticket!

Well Paul Allen (co-founder of Microsoft) owns the Seattle SEAHAWKS but he does not own the stadium even tho he paid around half of cost of building it and parking prices around there run $20-$25 for a game and I wouldn't pay that! You can always park further out and get the special buses that run back and forth to stadium or downtown parking garages and stadium is fairly close for a bus on your own. Paul Allen is pretty low-key and you seldom even see him - doesn't take the spotlight. He's the best owner our team has ever had and we love him.

Come on, folks! Differences in people, opinions, and yep, even football teams is what makes the world go 'round! There's room for all of us, and our football preferences. I feel sure the Okies who participated in the opening of the new stadium were well paid, and didn't feel insulted by being in Texas. It's too bad you felt disappointed.
