Any chance Vince may be the last unannounced "big name" performer that is showing up at Merlefest this year? Now that would be a treat for the 20th year anniversary of this event. When you think about it the possible combination of performers would be simply mind boggling! biggrin.gif

I would think it would depend on when Merlefest takes place and Vince's schedule. He is touring fairly heavy this year and the last concert that is on his tour is Dec. 9th. in Vegas .

So far there is only one tour date listed for 2007. Will have to wait and see what the tour dates for 2007 are. If I remember correctly, Vince has only done Merefest two times, the last time a few years ago. But maybe with the new bluegrass/acoustic CD he will make it this year.

MerleFest is a four-day Americana music festival and is always held the last weekend in April.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if Vince is added to the MerleFest list. His first performance there was many years ago, and he performed on a flatbed trailer. He was there again three years ago (I think) and performed on the main stage. He sang some bluegrass with Earl Scruggs, and later he and the band did a set of Vince's hits.

MerleFest has grown by leaps and bounds. It's a great festival but is getting way too pricey and crowded.
