I know many of you have done this too!
I was in my local Borders...of course I checked out the music section. Vince finally had box sets available (6 of them) - all in his "Vince" section.
So like any good Vince Gill fan I:
1) Moved one box set up top to "display" with all the new CD's above.
2) Grabbed one and put it in the "Box set" secion (none were there).
3) Moved one to the front of the store and made room next to Carrie Underwood in the "New Country" section.
4) I saw the # 10 slot was empty on "Borders Top 20 sellers" so I magically put a Vince set at # 10 (OK maybe I went a bit far there - not sure what #10 was).
5) Left 2 in his secion but made sure the "advertisement sheet" promoting the CD was easier to see.
So now I felt good having Vince stratigically placed throughout the store!
If it helps sell one more CD than would have sold - I feel good (Ok I felt good regardless)

Hee hee!! LOVE IT, Charlie!! I sorta did the same thing at Circuit City the other night. There were three copies of "These Days" on this weird bottom rack... so I very casually moved them up to the normal rack and very strategicall placed them where they were easy to see.. at eye level. Just doing my part, dontcha know.

Gee, Charlie...sounds like we went to the same school of cd shelf stocking...LOL!!! Bruce & I do that everytime we hit a store where they have Vince & Amy cd's!!! Hey, somebody has to make it easier to find their music...

I headed to Borders on Tuesday so I will rummage through the CD's and see what I can do to help the cause..........I may even wander over to Target and see I can arrange their music section.....Charlie, you have great ideas!

...Good to know we're all doing our part to help Vince!

I took care of the arranging at our local Wal-Mart! Moved several sets to the top of the shelf where they only had one left of Vince's set for "Hot New Items." There were several sets of other artists there, so I felt it was only fair.

Also, nice to see a little poster advertising the Boxset at the bottom of the country section, which had been accidently pushed into the side of the metal holder a little to far to read the whole thing, so I pulled it out and centered it for proper viewing!

The Mediabase I checked has The Reason Why at 28 December 11 to 17th. with a bullet. It seems to be going up a bit. Higher than the week before.

Our Borders needs more help than I can give. They had only one Vince CD and that was NBT. No copies of These Days anywhere. Hopefully, they were sold out but my area isn't a hot bed of country fans. I didn't have time to check out Target today but will this weekend.

I went back to my Borders today and they had swelled from 6 sets to 16!!!
I again placed several throughout the store and this time I put Vince at an open "#17" on the Borders top sellers....so they have a lot of copies here.
