For the last decade, News 2 Anchor Bob Mueller has been raising money to help Middle Tennesseans fighting multiple sclerosis. On Monday, the Bob Mueller Celebrity Golf Scramble took place at the Hermitage Golf Course.
To Mueller, it’s hard to believe the tournament is in its tenth year. This year, said Mueller, “we're gonna close in on netting over half a million dollars.” He said the tournament will gross about a million but after expenses, over a half million going to our local M.S. Society.
With a packed course of thirty two teams this year year’s tournament was one of the biggest yet. M.S....
President Jim Ward said, “It’s a best ball scramble so everybody tees off and than they go after the best shot and bring it in from there."
Mueller’s long time friend and celebrity Vince Gill attended the tournament. When it comes to M.S, Gill said it's a subject that hits close to home. "I have a cousin back home that is struggling with M.S. and after he contracted that and every time Bob calls I feel like it's the right thing to do and it's a good thing to be out here for this cause,” said Gill.
Mueller also has friends with M.S and he feels like this is something he can do to help. Monday’sM.S Celebrity Golf Scramble hopes to raise $75,000 for local multiple sclerosis research.
