Or at least a reasonable explanation as to why there hasn't been a 2nd single released from the boxed set? Seems like Vince is out there "working it"...why isn't this being supported by the record company? Kay S.

One reason is "The Reason Why"" is still on the charts and has been "hanging in there". Labels don't release another single while one is still on the chart,unless it has been on the way down. I did read in one of the "trade magazines" that the second single would be released in February.

And the million dollar question....What song will that be? If it comes out in about a month....MCA/others - someone - must know what it is! Come on somebody spill the beans.....

Just checked the MediaBase chart, and it's holding steady at #27 with an increase of 8 spins. Not much, but any increase in the number of spins is good! And with the song still hanging in there and increasing in spins, I wouldn't blame MCA if they pushed back the release date of the next single to get as much exposure out of The Reason Why as they possibly can.

I agree it's still going up - so that's good (ie: increase in spins) but seems like every other song around it (above it) goes up 100 to 300 or more spins - so it will be difficult to go up higher or not be overtaken by other songs....however I said this before and it just kept on hanging on!

I think they will release a new one soon just to have another song eligible for say CMA awards or next years grammy's etc (not sure of all the cut off dates for the awards).

I can wait - but I bet if not February before the end of March there will be a 2nd official single....plus it's been 6 months! jmho

I can't believe after all this time I still haven't heard "The Reason Why" here in Tallahassee. Very sad and unfortunate.

Thanks Mary Anne - they must have moved the date out on the CMA's....I thought it was end of March. They can give the current single as much time as it needs to "play - out"....

I too have never heard it here in Portland but that's "the usual" - neither station even mentioned he was here last year doing a show!

I was just in Salem for 8 days and listened to a station out of Portland and one from Albany and never heard the song once. Lots of Kenny, Tim, and Eric Church.

Not sure about the Oregonian paper - review etc....I don't remember....just that the radio stations "ignored" that he was here...
like it never happened.
Of course - I suppose MCA could have done advertising spots on the air - and then generate chat about him on air (I would suppose)...but of course the radio will mention King George will be here - every 20 minutes.

The CMA cutoff date has always been June 30- Not sure when the ACM cut off date is, since that show has been moved from March/April to :May- but I think they go from Dec. through Nov.-which means the boxset would be eligible for this year.'s show.

We were in Walmart shopping over the weekend and we heard just a clip of 'The Reason Why'..they were playing the video on the many tv's they have set up around the store...was just a clip tho and I was miffed when they booted the video for an advertisement....was nice to hear that little clip being played anyhow...
