Brad got home tonight from Mississippi after serving in Iraq for the past year. What a celebration. The whole length of the journey from airport to armory was lined with well wishers and he said it was just overwhelming to see all the people who came out. So glad to have him back home safe and sound. Thank all of you here for all your prayers and well wishes while Brad was serving our country. Please don't forget the guys and gals still in harm's way and continue to pray for them. Prayers are answered - ours were tonight.

That's wonderful new Nina. Is he home to stay now? I'm so happy for your family that he has returned safe and sound, and can enjoy time with his new baby girl. Give him some extra hugs from those of us who are so proud of him, and also so thankful to him and all the others who sacrifice for us.

Nina, So happy to learn about Brad. I think on another post I got his name down for your husband. Sorry about that. Sometimes I get off center. Any way hope he is home for good. I continue to keep the men and women in the military in my prayers.

Nina, what wonderful news that Brad is home and I could hear the excitement in your note. God bless him and all our service people. I'm glad to hear that so many well wishers were there for the home coming. I still remember too much "bad" after Vietnam and don't want to see that repeated!!!!

Yes he is home to stay. He is enjoying his baby girl and has gotten lots of hugs and kisses. Thanks again for all your prayers and please keep the soldiers still in harm's way in your prayers.

Nina, you mentioned about keeping the soldiers that are still in harms way in our thoughts and prayers. John had a doctor's appointment today and it was only 2 blocks from the traveling Vietnam War Memorial Wall and since it wasn't raining or anything we went over. What a moving site to see and we were able to check out a few names from our hometown and our high school. They have a computer and a book and can look up names or towns and tell you exactly where that person's name would be...thank goodness since it's so massive. Needless to say, I left in tears and even talking about it makes my eyes water now. They have a guestbook to sign and I recommend anyone that can see this near them, please do! God bless our armed forces and bring them home safely to "their" country and their loved ones.

Welcom home again, Brad.

Trish, speaking of the Vietnam Wall - my cousin was killed by a sniper the day before he was to surprise my Uncle John for Father's Day. A friend of mind visited Washington and copied his name (with a piece of paper and a pencil rubbing) and it's very, very special to me.

Nina - I'm so happy to hear Brad is back home. Every time I have listened to news reports on Iraq I have thought about Brad. I'm so happy for you and your family. Please pass on hugs from Virginia to Brad. I will continue to pray for all the men and women serving our country so bravely.

Debbie, I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. Yesterday they gave us papers to do that and wrote on them the soldier's name, hometown, date of birth and date of death. Then they had crayons to rub the names, but it was 90 degrees and they just weren't working well and they told us it was because the wall was too hot. Probably works better on the real wall anyway. Glad you have that memory. So sad to see almost 60,000 names on that wall and it was NEVER a declared war!

My little granddaughter's husband is supposed to ship out to Iraq this summer from Ft. Lewis. Poor kids - they have only been married since March.
