I thought this might be a bit telling between buddies.
I am sick of anything by Trace Atkins and I like Josh Turner but I am so tired of hearing Will You Go With Me and I really like Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw when it first came out but now it's just a bit to much when you hear it simultaneously on each country station and the video shows

. Two more, the one by Rodney Akins ???? About the not getting the toy til the kids nuggets are gone. Great message but don't really like hearing it 20 times a day and underneath, underneath, underneath Amarillo Skies. I wish that tractor would stop going around and around and around .

Don't hate them ,just tired of hearing them. Even resorted to turning the radio down if I can get to it in time .
No offense intended against anyone who just can't hear these songs enough. I know the feeling . I never tire of anything by Vince .

I have to agree...don't have any songs or artists in particular, but I just don't listen to local radio that often anymore. I was station swapping the other day in the car and a particular artist was singing on both of our local stations at the same time...different songs, but the same artist. There is SO MUCH great new music out there, and SO MUCH great old music out there..it just disturbs me that the stations play the same thing so many times a day...uuuuuuggggghhhhhh

Sorry guys, I cannot get enough, because we don't have any Country radio station over here. Just listen to my CDs and sometimes to some web radio. Ok, I have a few that I don't like (Toby Keith and Trace Adkins for instance) I liked Toby when he was not that well-known like he is now, but since How do you like me now. I really liked Getcha Some and the songs he did before.
But I start to like him a little better now again. His latest CD is not too bad.

Ok - no offense to any artist...but:
MY WISH RASCAL FLATTS (Not a big fan)
I LOVED HER FIRST HEARTLAND Sorry - nice song but after 1000 plays

)
I also have little I like anymore about Trace Adkins (ever since the badonka donk!

and Toby Keith either.....I like some of their individual (and mostly "older") songs....
But yes hearing the same 5-7 songs everytime you turn on the radio gets old (unless it's Vince! So I'd suppose fans of the "current crop" of stars are in a very happy place....)

About the most I listen to the radio anymore is on Saturdays, since there's nothing on TV, but, like most of you, I"m pretty tired of hearing Trace and Toby, and like Charlie, my wish is that they'd cut it with Rascal Flatts My Wish.

I'm also tired of the same ones and mostly I listen to XM radio in the car and cd's at home but one of these days I'll get the car with a few of my fav Vince cds.

AMEN!!! I agree with all those listed above, and would like to add anything by Kenny Chesney, especially since his last ten songs have sounded exactly alike. Let's also add Carrie Underwood and my new personal least favorite, Kellie Pickler. The song is bad enough, but I sat through the video yesterday (thinking maybe if I like the video it would make me like the song a bit more---nope) and it was a total waste of four good minutes. UGH!! I don't see where they call any of that talent! Sure, they're both attractive people, but I bet I sound almost as good without all the studio fluff they put on them. I just don't get it!!!!
I'm sure I have more, but this is a good start. Not intending to offend anyone, just tired of the same stuff, in rotation, every half hour.....

Like Carrie, Kellie is a former American Idol contestant, although Kellie didn't win. I haven't seen Kellie's video, but did see watch her on AI and figured she would get a record deal from it, since she was pretty good.

Anna - I absolutely agree with every single one you listed... and most of everybody else's too! It's just too much... over and over and over and over... I just want to SCREAM. When it becomes too much (which is usually only about after 30 seconds of listening to the radio), I just push in my VG CDs and let out a big sigh of relief and enjoyment...

I hate to say this, but CW took a poll as to how you would rate your local country station, and 46% consider it excellent - balances current and classic. So I guess a lot of people like hearing the same 20 songs over and over and over again.

All the country stations I listen to are about the same as that 46% ,however my problem is with the short play list. I understand that the DJ'S , perse , do not have anything to do with what is played. That is unless one of them happens to be program director, which happens to be the case here at one of the stations.
There are an awful lot of artist that are fighting to get their music on the air . These stations play the same play list about 10/15 times a day. Sure , they throw in an oldie by George Strait,Alan Jackson,Garth Brooks ,Brooks and Dunn And ( please do not think that I don't like these people,I do very much enjoy their music )That is their balance list. My radio is never off. I have 3 country stations programed in to my car radio and they are all the same. One that advertises "No corporate play list here" Just because they play one or so ,Merle, Willie,Cash, Dolly,Loretta,a day. They also play the same "short playlist, as the other stations.

If I hear either of Rodney Atkins' songs again, I will flip out.
Also, I agree about Trace, but only about his last two songs. "Arlington" and "Songs About Me" are still okay as far as I'm concerned.
I have called my 2 local radio stations until they probably want to smack me
to get them to play more Vince. Actually, one of them (KKJG) plays Vince when I call and I'm grateful for that, but geez, I want to train them to play him even when I don't call!!!!!

I totally agree with everyone also. We do have 2 good DJ's that will usually play at least one Vince song during each set but it's always one of the older ones. Not that I'm complaining, anything is great. I would just like to hear some new stuff.

What I find amusing is that probably most of these "46%" think "classic" is anything over 2 to 3 years old....and less than about 8 years old.
Current radio feeds us songs that are new - as we all agree - over and over and over - from a playlist of about 10 picked heavy rotation songs that get 50 spins a week! They then throw in a few hits from the last 5 years and call them "classics"....I find that amusing (in a sad way). When I think classics you have to go back farther than say 2000! To not only the 90's but 80's,70's and even 60's....but I guess that's too much for modern radio. There's no money I guess in "old" just "young, hip and new". Older songs and older stars don't sell many records ooops CD's

So they don't get the time of day.
Also most songs of an older era wouls be "too country" sounding for today's listener of country radio. Sad but true.

Well, again, thank Don Imus. He sure is doing his part. I think he pretty much has control over what he plays. This morning he said the set was # 20.Didn't say what list or rating .He did play ,This New Heartache.

I rarely listen to the radio anymore because I get tired of the same ole songs too! I listen to Vince almost non-stop though! I just pop one of his CDs in & I am good to go!
I would say I am tired of hearing songs by Kenny Chesney & at times I get tired of hearing Tim McGraw & Faith Hill too. It just depends on my mood but I do think radio stations overplay certain songs WAY too much!

I am soooooooooooo sick of Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney!!! Please help me!!! Tim and Faithy need to go on a rest!, and the rest of the top 10 singers of the mass produced singers, and give us REAL SINGERS! Like Trish, Vince, LeeAnn, can we say more real singers with HEART!!!

Not only is it the radios playing the same song....I've had CMT on today so that my nephew will sleep with music.......it has been mainly Rodney Atkins, Jason Aldean, Dixie Chicks, Faith and Tim, and Carrie Underwood. OVER AND OVER AND OVER.....give us a break...Play more of Vince Gill, John Berry, Brian McComas, and some of the good older songs...not just what's been recently released.
It's kinda funny with the radio stations I listen to....if I call in and they recognize my voice, they'll call me by name and be like...."Hey Rebekiah. How are ya today? Let me guess..a Vince Gill song.....does it matter which one?" I'm like...."Aww...you know me too well and No...it doesn't matter which one."
For the past day or so, I've been trying to win tickets to see Martina McBride, Little Big Town, and Rodney Atkins in concert....Buying tickets is fine...but winning them is even better. I've won tickets from the same radio station twice before....the first time, I saw Brian McComas and the second time, John Berry.

I don't get sick of listening to any of the artists because I RARELY have my radio on!!!! The reason why....every thing all of you have already said. My coworker listens to our local country station and was saying that they are still raving about Vince's box set and play The Reason Why quite abit. I surprised her today by giving her These Days. She had told me yesterday that she had been looking for it and couldn't find it. Walmart had it last night and I purchased it for her. When I gave it to her today she gave me a hug and had a huge smile on her face.

What a nice thing to do ,Laura. I know she is going to love every song of the 43. I gave a few away too. Also ,I want to reiterate,Imus is still playing songs from These Days.

I hear more on that show than radio.
