The one I would most like to see him record is "Give Me Jesus"... I guess that's because I've heard him sing it and it gives me goose bumps every time I hear it...

Most of you guys know that my love for Vince started the moment I heard his voice! My Dad had just passed away and to me, Vince's singing voice is so similar to my Dad's. The song that Dad sang a lot was "Farther Along" and Mom sang with him as he played the guitar. I can still hear Dad singing that song, and as I hear it ---- TO ME, it sounds like Vince singing it. I have always wanted to have the opportunity to hear Vince sing it. My dream came true when Vince sang "Farther Along" with Brad Paisley on Brad's album, "Mud on the Tires". I can't tell you what that meant to me to hear that! If you guys have not heard it ------- oh, it's so worth buying that album!

I agree ---- I want to hear "Give me Jesus" as a recording. That would be awesome.

"There Is A Reason" by Ron Block of AKUS
Sandy
"His Eye Is On The Sparrow"

"The Lord's Prayer"

"Angel Band"

Cathy, I also like "Farther Long." We used it at my mother-in-
law's funeral last summer. I love Brad's rendition of it too.

Vince did Angel Band On Emmylou's old cd with Her,Carl Jackson and others. He is also on one with George Jones. As For Brad Vince did BG and it was beautiful.I would love to here Vince do these songs ALONE lol . But I would love to hear Vince Do (No One Ever Cared For Me But Jesus).Vince has done a lot of songs of faith years ago .Some people think he only did them because of amy! That is just not true.I think he had always been a man of faith. His music from years ago sure showed that ! Any Song of faith by Vince would be a blessing to hear.lol hugs mamabear

Well my favorite song of faith is usually only played at Christmas time and Vince has recorded O Holy Night. As a kid growing up in Kentucky I loved the old hymns. One I will always remember is Standing On The Promises. I like In The Garden,Amazing Grace, So many Vince would just do them so great. Also I'd love it if he recorded Give Me Jesus. That song is so simple ,yet so beautiful and he is perfect singing it.

I have to say that I just love hearing Vince sing "Give me Jesus". I wish it was on one of the records because it isn't often that he sings it...but when he does it is amazing!!

Anna, My mother's favorite song was "In the Garden" We played it at her funeral.....One day, month's after she was gone, I was listening to a Brad Paisley CD & a song started playing & I stopped dead in my tracks...Brad was singing "In the Garden"....I lost it....It brought me to tears....It was beautiful.....I would really love to hear Vince sing it....With Vince singing it, I believe the angels might even cry...

I would love to hear him record Give Me Jesus. But any gospel song would sound heavenly with Vince singing it. Maybe he will do a gospel cd sometime.

I will say this about Brad Paisley,he is one very good singer and picker. I bet that was beautiful. The way he and Dolly sings When I Get To Where I'm Going ,just gives me chills.

I also love the a cappella quartet sounds on some of those really up beat hymns like the ones Elvis used to do with The Stamps Quartet and The Blackwood Brothers. OOPS,there I go again, getting off topic.

Anyway whatever Vince would decide to do down the road, maybe a whole record of Songs Of Faith .There sure would be plenty of material for something like that. I know A.J. did it but Vince could choose ( Hey ,how about Vince Gill sings Amy Grant laugh.gif ) Whatever he might choose would be done beautifully. cool.gif

I truly would for vince to sing "How Gentle God's Commands". They are only 3 verses to the song. Very short song, but so very beautiful, it is an allegro piece, and very-flowing piece! I would sit down at the piano and I would play it and sing along for hours! smile.gif

One of my favorite songs for Vince to sing would be "How Great Thou Art." On the CMT special (I think) with Vince on the road, he asked the girl on the show if she would like to sing that song with him. I would have loved the chance to do that. smile.gif

In the Garden was one of my Mom's favorite hymns and Shall we Gather at the River was my Dad's. I haven't heard that in years. It's kinda funny I still remember that since I was only 14 when he died.
