Sandy
I've been going through lots of "stuff" lately, trying to eliminate a lot of things.

I was looking through an old scrapbook and found ticket stubs for the first concert I attended back in 1957. It was Jimmy Dean..........yep, the Sausage King. I couldn't believe the price of the concert was only $2.00.

Also found stubs from an Elvis concert in 1977 - $15.00.

Scary how times have changed. Of course, the Jimmy D. concert was 50 years ago!!! ohmy.gif

I remember on Elvis' last tour he cancelled the Seattle show and was gone not much later and I was so disappointed I never got to see him "live"!

Freida, My friend Sara and I were at Elvis's last concert (I still have my ticket stubs too.I'm thinking it was June 26 th. '77 . I think we paid $25.00 .Six weeks later he was gone. Sometimes, still hard to believe sad.gif ) in Indianapolis. I lived in Indiana for 25 years and got to see 4 of his concerts .They have since torn down Market Square Arena but a bunch of Elvis fans got together and it's my understanding that there is a plaque or sign of some sort there to disignate the place his last concert took place. I have not seen it but my son-in-law sent me an article from the Indy Star. This has been some years ago.

I am also an Elvis fan. I remember he came to the Binghamton, NY arena when I was 15. (Vince is playing there very soon). My father owned the parking lot right across the street from the arena, and actually saw Elvis and his group of people arriving at the hotel. I begged, really begged my Dad to get me tickets for his show, but Dad didn't see the big deal about Elvis so I never got to see him do a show.

Speaking about going back and remembering prices, my father remembered seeing Ray Price and Little Jimmy Dickens in West Virginia years ago in the 50's, and the ticket price was less than $2.00 They also stayed around after the show, and talked to people.

Well, I can't remember the days of $2 concert tickets, but the first time I saw Vince was at the Chili Cookoff in Pembroke Pines, FL in 1993, and tickets were only $10. And the Strawberry Festival tickets back in 2000 were only $10, plus admission to the festival..but in addition to the regular concert, we also got to watch Soundcheck...so it was basically 2 concerts for the price of 1. *L*
