We have snow here. It has snowed fri & sat. and been quite cold. There was a couple of nights that it was -30 degrees - very very cold. I guess we finally got our winter weather- it has been nice all through january.

Same here, Amanda. We have had an unusually warm winter up until now. About the time I'm starting to think about Spring, NOW the normal winter weather comes. Ugh! We have a little snow on the ground (4-5 inches) and it's been snowing today and more snow in the forecast tomorrow (just a few more inches, nothing major).
I was getting used to the warm weather (well, warm for Minnesota). I'm not liking this below zero stuff. I don't mind the snow, just don't like the frigid temps. It's been in the single digits for several days, barely above zero, and the last few days we've dropped to about -15 below (around -30 to -40 in northern MN) overnight. It's times like this I wonder why I moved back to Minnesota! (I lived in Nashville for 7 years.) Believe it or not, I missed the Minnesota winters ... yes, I'm a little crazy.
Here's to warm, snuggly nights by the fireplace!

Yes, Carrie Ann we are getting the snow there today by the lake shore in Michigan. We were suppose to get some last night but they got all of it further south than us. It is very cold here too. Guess winter has now arrived. I do not like the cold at all.

Here in SE Missouri it is cold, but no snow. We had one snow shower this AM and the ground was VERY SLIGHTLY white. We have had a mild winter with NO snow and thankfully no ice here. My son lives in St. Louis and was without power twice. He lost a lot of tree limbs and trees because of the ice storms, but we haven't had anything. The adults are happy.....but the kids are complaining. Sure hope the weather settles down before Feb 12 which is when we leave for Davenport, Iowa. We plan to visit relatives while we are there to see Vince. It figures.....we've had a mild winter and NOW it snows. <smokypaws>

We don 't have any snow yet here in Blue Ridge, GA (north GA), but they are forecasting 2-3 inches here for tonight and then tomorrow is possible for more snow/sleet/freezing rain.
Goody...

.....my sister is happy, though. She wants to take my nephew (her son) out to play in the snow. He's 18 months and hasn't really seen snow that much. We've had snow...just no accumulation.

Let me change my post....As of 4:30 am this morning (2/1/07), we already had 2 inches. It is now 12:07 pm and we have almost 6 inches here in Blue Ridge, GA. It has finally quit snowing....the roads are horrible! I live on back roads, so the road department hasn't made it out here yet....I wish they would hurry up....
I'm going to get the link of where I uploaded my pics online. These are some pics of the snow and my nephew (18-month-old Vance) standing out in the snow all bundled up...you should have seen him...he had 3 shirts on (2 with hoods) and a jacket with a hood. Plus, he had on 2 pair of socks and 3 pair of pants. He kinda looked like a penquin trying to walk
I'll post the address in another post.

Kids around here where I live didn't have to worry about school today. According to the local news station in Atlanta, there were about 30 schools in the north GA area that were closed. In some places, like Dahlonega, GA, they had close to 8 inches.
We had between 4 and 5 inches

Yes, winter can stop now. We are having blizzard conditions today. I do not enjoy being housebound. I should not complain as I feel so bad for the people in Florida going through the tornadoes that they had.

We had our first snow here on Wed night......only about 1 1/2 inches but enough to keep the kids out of school. Being in a rural area most kids come by bus and the roads were too slick for that. Amazingly 3 days later the weather has been so cold it still hasn't melted. Doesn't look like that is going to happen anytime soon..... hasn't been above freezing for days and is supposed to stay that way until next week. I'm just hoping things get better before Feb. 12th when we leave for Iowa to see Vince!!!!!! I think I'll start looking into that dogsled....LOL <smokypaws>
