This is in reference to AHAVA's request in the topic,
"Does Vince Ever Check Out His Board?"
This is to VINCE....
I'm in agreement with AHAVA that we would love to see you put
together a CD/DVD of duets you sang with Alison Krauss
on CMT CROSS COUNTRY. If you check your CMT message
board and Alison's message board, that discussion has been going
full swing. Bring in Amy and your daughter on the project as well....
the more the merrier!

Since I didn't get to see Cross Country like others did,
I don't know all the songs you sang duets on, but what I would
love to hear you do with Alison is "The Heart Won't Lie"....
and "Everytime I Hear Your Name"....those are my two favorite
songs of yours and I am certain it would be absolutely beautiful
hearing you do those two songs with Alison.

But I would want all the Cross Country duets as well.

Maybe by the time you get done, you would have a CD almost as
thick as the "These Days" CD!!

But I want a DVD as well!

Well get busy.....we're a waiting!!! Thanks! cool.gif biggrin.gif

Since they are on different labels, doing a duet cd would be a more difficult taks to accomplish then if they were with the same label. It would be up to CMT to release a DVD of the Cross Country show since it was a CMT show.

Mary Anne...Hi....we would love for CMT to release that....but
we are asking Vince to do not only those songs but others as well...
we think Alison and Vince sing really well together.
Correct me on this if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty certain that record
labels have worked things out like this before. Alison sings with a lot of people...she's all over the place, as is Vince....I can't imagine that
being a really big issue, but I'm not in the music business, so maybe I'm wrong. Anyway we just posted to let Vince know what we're hoping for.
Thanks for writing. smile.gif

Good morning, friend from 'that other' board (LOL)!

No, you are not wrong. Artists from different labels collaborate all the time ... they just have to get their accountants working on the $$$$$ (yuck).

There is just no way a DVD/CD from Vince and Alison would not be a huge success and I hope 'the powers that be' will make it happen ... and happen ASAP.

Thanks for the input oh friend from the other board! smile.gif
All I can add to what you said is, AMEN!!!

We're STILL A WAITIN'! cool.gif smile.gif

I think it's harder to collaborate on an entire album if you are on different labels than just coming in to do background work. No offense to Alison, but I'd rather see a Vince and Patty Loveless duet cd first.
JBC
That's true, Mary Anne. It's one thing to do one track but a complete CD is different. Wasn't there talk about Vince doing a duet album with Patty some time ago when Patty was with MCA? Even then when they were both with MCA it still didn't happen.

Just my opinion, but I don't know that Vince would want to do a concept album like that now. He seems to want to do what the songs he writes tells him to do. And maybe he wants to mix it up and sing with alot of different artists from different music genres.

Thank you Joan and Mary Anne for your responses.

We're just wanting Vince to know what we would like for him to do.
I'm not a huge Patty Loveless fan....Alison is my girl and pick.

I just posted this so Vince Gill would know what we've been discussing
on the CMT message boards and let him know what we'd love to
hear.

But he and Alison will do what they want to do.

Thank you for responding again.
