So Happy for Vince winning another grammy.But I wonder why he was not there to recieve it??I read some where here on the board that he was going but Not Amy.I hope things are ok.Vince always shows up at Amy award things.I was hoping they were both there I feel bad for Vince going alone to recieve an honor like a Grammy.I did not watch.Hope some one knows if Vince is ok never saw him miss a Biggie like this.mamabear

According to an interview in an Illinois newspaper, Vince decided to skip the ceremony to spend time with the family before leaving on tour. His catagory was not televised as only one off the country catagoreis was televised.

That's fabulous! I was so afraid his cd set wasn't out in time but maybe by next year he'll win some more awards for his great new music!

With only the single eligible this year, I agree Vince should have more nominations (and hopefully wins) next year....

The CD itself should be up for multiple awards IMHO.

So happy that he won. I did wade through all of the red carpet for about two hours and no signs of Vince so thought that he was not there. I will have to admit that the women dressed alot nicer this year and was some beautiful dresses. I watched about one hour of the show and that was enough. I went online and found that Vince had already won the grammy and was not televised.

I was thrilled to find out that Vince won the Grammy. It is so great to see him getting the recognition he so deserves. The boxed set is incredible and the praise for it is wonderful....way to go Vince!!!

I was so afraid I'd missed the little printed announcement on the bottom of the screen during the show... and then when I saw it say "Best Male Vocalist - Country - VInce Gill, The Reason Why" - I did a little jump off the couch and a big WOO HOO!!!! I thought about all you guys and knew we were all celebrating together at that moment. Such good news, and Vince is so deserving!! Here's to an even bigger show in '08.

I can hardly stand the wait until the CMA'S and next year's Grammy's.Then there is the ACM'S. Not so sure of them but I am keeping my fingers crossed for November. If These Days don't win there needs to be an investigation.

Anna, they announce the nominations for the ACM's on March 5. Not sure, but Vince will probably be eliglble for this award show. It will be interesting to see what they do. They haven't been that great to Vince in the past so we'll see.

I remember an interview several years ago where they asked Vince what he did with all his awards, and he said he kept some of them in the trunk of his car.
