Some idiot on Amazon.com gave Vinny a TWO STAR review. There are 101 customer reviews on amazon. As far as I can see there are 99 FIVE STAR reviews,1 four star review & one TWO STAR review. the reason I say IDIOT is because it sounds like HE didn't even listen to the CD. I reported it to amazon as inappropriate. If you are able to do the same thing I suggest you do. He also says in his review "you country people". Look I'm not a "Country people". I have seen everyone from Elton John, Alan Jackson, Metallica, Ringo Starr, George Jones, Conway Twitty, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Robert Plant,Trisha Yearwood, Patty Loveless to Whitesnake. So I don't know what "Country people" means. So like I said report this as innapropriate based on the fact that he didn't even listen to the CD. Heck,he's from Oklahoma too!!!!!!

I just reported it as well. I fail to see where a person that doesn't even like country music should review a country music album. And it's obvious he doesn't like country music. Maybe he should have let his wife do the review.
Thanks Reggie. Hopefully, Amazon will delete this statement...I hardly call it a review.

I have already done my review....so if there is anyone left out there that can do a review please do so. Give Vince the 5 stars he deserves and let's at least "bury" the 2 Star review - so it is not seen so easily!
It takes about 4 to 5 reviews to get it off the main screen.
I agree - sounds like he did not even listen and then decided to take the time to review it because he does not like "country"...odd (and unfair).

I did my review a long time ago.If I could do another one I would.I think you are only allowed one so come on you all who haven't done a review yet........get busy. It's very easy and as Charlie said it would only take a couple or so to bury the 2 star one. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!

I reported it too - but honestly I do not think they will "delete" it....as long as that is this guy's opinion (and it does not contain offensive or objectional type comments)....it will stand. I doubt Amazon will see it as "violating terms of posting" (I may be wrong - but I have seen "worse" stand on this type of open forum). This guy has a right to post his thoughts and give his "stars" as he sees fit....even though we really do not like it.
That said - I still think the best thing to do is get as many friends and family as you can to write more positive reviews....Vince will keep his 5 Star Rating overall and all will be fine with the world (with or without this bozos post).

I agree..his wife should have done the review, since he got it for HER, not for himself and the fact he doesn't even like country music. If someone doesn't listen to an album, how can they review it? Doesn't make sense to me...
Maybe we should all go over there and make a comment to this guy to let his wife do the reviewing since he bought it for her and since he doesn't even like country music.

Eventhough I disagree with the guys opinion..he is certainly entitled to his own opinion and should be able to express it. JMO

I am happy to do a review over there and can honestly do five stars. This body of work deserves five stars. My question is, however, am I allowed to post a review there if I did not get my copy of "These Days" through Amazon? I bought my copy at a retail store.

Yes you can post a review even if you didn't buy it through Amazon.

Yes & NO....I am sure you can post a review even if you did not purchase These Days from Amazon - however...I think you have to at lease have bought something from Amazon to verify you are legidamate and only voting once....so if you've never purchased anything from Amazon you may have a hard time posting a review until you do buy something.....

The "2 star" review...is GONE! There are only 100 total reveiws now - not 101.
Honestly, I feel conflicted and a bit guilty (I am only speaking for myself - as I too reported it and then felt bad about it later....it was not inappropriate - it was just something I personally did not agree with)...people should be able to give their review and post it and be allowed to give less than "5 stars" if they choose to do so (even if it annoys us hard core fans - we are adults we can handle opinions that don't go along with ours)....that's why it's there - to get an average star rating and see the "diverse" opinions...I kind of feel like the censorship police.
I gave Alan Jackson's new CD "2 stars" when it first came out. I was not "thrilled" at all with it. I did give a detailed review of why etc.... I did listen to it over and over and over time learned to appreciate it more and went back and upped my stars to 4 (but NOT 5....and I would be upset if I was removed just for NOT giving out a 5 star review).
I guess my point is if we only allow "5 star" reviews - what is the point in having the option to choose "1 to 5" stars?
Anyway - again only speaking about how I feel about it - not going to lose sleep over it.

Actually I raised it to a "3 star review" (not to a 4)...(AJ's latest) I may go back and change it to 4....but if you look AJ has about 100 reviews overall as well (near same number as Vince) and his overall rating is "3.5 stars" (with quite a few 1 and 2 star reviews)....So should mine be removed? Should all the "1 stars" be removed - many from hard core AJ fans? I think not....I hope not.
----Here is my actual AJ review:

Not Great - Not Terrible, New Mellow "pop" Sound ...., September 26, 2006
Reviewer: C. Jones "Charlie" (West Linn, OR USA) - See all my reviews
Yes - most of these songs are slow tempo at best songs. Not a single really up tempo hard driving honky tonk tune. I do sense Alan tried to stretch himself for a more "contemporary" sound and in that sense it works.
I will say the songs tend to blend together and sound way too much a like for my taste. I do miss the more traditional country sound that you normally get from Alan. And I miss having ballads, mid-tempo and uptempo numbers on the same CD...
This is an interesting departure for Alan. It is not terrible and it's not great. I would say it's a decent CD that will not knock your socks off (However, I do agree it may grow a bit on you with repeated listens - that's why I gave it 3 stars instead of 2).
I miss my "real country" sound I generally get from Alan Jackson!
That said - I also think it is better than most of the music that comes out of Nashville these days!

Well, here's what I thought when I read this post, then saw the actual comments at Amazon...I definately agree that people should be allowed to give their opinions and any number of stars that they want to, *but* they should first listen to the album before posting a review, and they shouldn't make an overall judgement about country artists and their fans. Heck, not all country artists and their fans are "country folks"...a lot of artists and fans are from big cities...I wonder if that guy has ever listened to country music...? Maybe if he had, he'd be quoting the lyrics to Trace Adkins "Songs About Me..." *L*

I agree Valerie...I too believe it would be important to actually listen to a CD before giving it a "honest - personal" rating (Be it 1 to 5 stars....).
---
I guess it raised a bunch of "issues" for me after I was quick to "report it". In retrospect, I would not have done that (again, this is just my opinion and my thoughts - for me). I should have thought it thru and I might have done things a bit differently after reflection.
....Freedom of speech and "opinions" are important - even the ones we disagree with.
Even this post as I type - not everyone will agree with me 100%....I expect that (heck I encourage that - that we all think and feel for ourselves) - but I appreciate the right to do so (post, or rate CD's, share an opinion etc.) . And while I often don't agree with a lot of what I read online ( a lot I do), I try real hard to respect other's rights to express themselves.
Maybe I need to chill and I made a bigger deal out of it all than I needed to....so I will step off my soap box.
More important is Vince on TV tomorrow and what the heck is the next single!
Have a good night.

My decision to report the review wasn't based on the number of stars but what was written. It wasn't a review of the music or the artist in question. If he had said that he had heard his wife playing the music and didn't like it, that would have been a different matter. I don't see reporting the review as denying the man a right to his opinion and I seriously doubt that Amazon would remove it if they didn't feel it was inappropriate.

I feel the whole star thing is a bit like the old saying of "if you don't vote ( in the elections ) you can't complain". That's a paraphrase
If you don't listen to the music don't write a review of something you haven't heard and for goodness sake it is his right to do it but I think it's wrong to even express an opinion about something that you don't know about. Maybe he should go back ,after listening to the set ,then rate it. State you have heard it and do /do not like it but leave the comments out about "you country people "

Has nothing to do with the people who bought it or who likes Vince no matter what . Just be fair about it weather it's a 1 star or 5 star.

I still think the complaint was justified. What this guy wrote was not a review. If he wanted to rate this music, he should tell us why he gave it a 2...if he had done that to start with, then I would have no problem with his review. It's clear that his intent was to bring the whole rating average down. If Amazon removed it, then they obviously agreed that it was wrong.
Charlie, I wouldn't feel so bad about this or about your rating of AJ's album. It's clear by your review that you listened to the music before you reviewed it and that you are an AJ fan. Overall, the people I have asked about AJ's newest album didn't like it much either. I can't say because I haven't listened to it. I liked the first single off of AJ's album, but can't stand watching the video..I just think he looks funny walking backwards..but I didn't care enough for the new single to want to buy the album...

Since I started this post I feel I must throw my two more cents in. I attempted to get this idiots' review thrown off because there is no way possible he listened to anywhere near all 43 songs. It sounds like he doesn't have a mind of his own. ANYONE can write a review as long as they go in with an open mind & listen to the ENTIRE CD!!!!

I doubt he listened to any of it and I think that's what most of us objected to !
