When I was an active member of earlier VG message boards, I recall a young lady named "Terra" (if I'm remembering correctly). She was a patient at St. Jude Children's Hospital and had met Vince Gill. Sadly, she passed away far too young.
Never in a million years did I think we'd find ourselves in similar circumstances but we did. In 2004, my 9-year old son was diagnosed with high risk T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He has just recently finished over 2 years of treatment which included radiation to his brain and almost daily chemotherapy and is doing well. St. Jude plays a huge role in the increasing improvement of treatments and people like Vince and Amy continue to support the massive effort of keeping St. Jude on the cutting edge.
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to each person who has supported the advancements at every center. Thank you.
