"What You Give Away" on its way
Vince Gill has a new single coming out, and it's already getting good reviews. Here's what Music Row's Robert K. Oermann had to say about "What You Give Away," "This stately groover was introduced on the CMA Awards. It’s a fabulous message song about selflessness and generosity that is sorely needed in these greedy, grasping times. That’s Sheryl Crow on high harmonies. Vince’s mid-song guitar solo is poetry." He also named the song his Disc of the Day. You can find the track on Vince's 4-CD set, These Days.

It seems pretty much official. Robert K Oermann's review is in today's Music Row email newsletter. He gives it his "Disk of the Day" nod.

Agreed. Especially since it's posted on the Vince Gill "These Days" website - Now we need to request and request and yes....request.

I hope they make a video - or at the very least supply the CMA performance of the song to CMT and GAC as a video (Sheryl is there - as is Amy and Jenny! singing back - up!)

I bet they do use a "live" version of the song as the video. They can use the CMA one or when the two Ryman shows are recorded for the live DVD they can use cuts from these shows for future videos. Will be great to see Vince back on CMT again.

I wonder why the music won't play on the These Days link ????? I have never been able to hear all of the songs,clips,whatever the is on it. Wish they would fix it ...............Oh,well I'll just pop my These Days CD'S in the player. DUH !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It may be an issue (or a conflict) with your computer....I can hear all the song clips just fine- I just listened to snipets of them all........Not sure why you cannot.

I really hope this single does well....it is such a great song!!

I am happy to report that my local station in Port Huron is playing Vince every day this week! The morning guy keeps asking people to call in and give their opinions of the song, and EVERYONE that has called in has given the song two thumbs up. Yeah!! The dj's also really like it, so that is fueling the fire to get it played even more. I talked to the afternoon dj today, and he said he really likes it and is planning on playing it a lot. I've heard it at all different times of the day, so that's an even bigger bonus!!

You are lucky - our stations ignore him! You can't get them to play any Vince even tho we have 2 country stations supposedly!Grrr...

When that was first posted I could hear the songs.That only happened once. I do have AOL and I know there are times that conflicts with certain things.

Very exciting! Why is MCA making April 2nd the official release date. I mean, what's the hold-up?? Let's go - everybody's ready and anxious!!

Anna - do you have DSL or "dial up"...I have AOL too but I visit the (VINCE) site via IE (internet Explorer without going thru AOL...I have DSL/Broadband etc).

Things seem to go "faster" if you can skip using AOL at times and also broadband is a lot "faster" than dial up....and less "conflicts" (usually).

I had dial up for years. Once you do DSL etc....you'll never want to go back to dial up - it's just too slow and my patience is not what it use to be

Charlie, Oh,yes.I have High Speed through my cable company and AOL Broadband.I will try IE. WOOHOO ,It worked !!!!!! Thanks Charlie..

Anna - Awesome! Like I said AOL software sometimes "slows" things down and/or has a "conflict" more often. I generally use AOL for my emails and a bit of "web surfing"....but skip AOL and open directly with IE to do all my "web surfing"....seems to work much better!
