Hello All,

Just saw Vince tonight for the first time. Took my 80 old mother as an extra Birthday Gift and we both enjoyed the concert. Get this - he played 2 sets 1st half for 1.5 hours, then a 15-20 intermission and then another 2 hours -- it is the best show in the business -- at about $55.00 a ticket how can you go wrong (this was in Lowell Mass). This concert has something for everyone - Rock, Country, Blue Grass, Jazz, etc etc even those who just want to be in awe of excellent musicians cannot go wrong here. Also - who knew you had to be talented playing the tamborine (in elementry school i was a pro lol)....This women rocked -- she was awesome ....

I went to a Mairiah Carey Concert that lasted (no kidding) about 47 minutes.....this Vince Gill concert was 3.5 hours ---- all Vince - no warm up act. He is nice, funny, and talented......Well Done Vince - Well Done.

By the way the new song I saw people talking about and reading the critic reviews was sung tonight -it was great. Inspirational - about the need to give back... Enjoy everyone.....Tom

Hey Tom, sounds like you had a wonderful time!!! And you really got your money's worth. That's great!!!

The woman playing the tamborine...that would be Becca Bramlett...you are so right, she rocks!!! Becca always really gets into the music...she's very fun to watch!!!

I would assume the new single he sang was 'What You Give Away'...I absolutely love that song...and I really hope that radio embraces it!!!

Thanks for the review, Tom!!!

My first post here, is about what ranks as the best show I have ever seen. I'm a musician and a guitar player, and have been for more than 40 years. It takes a lot to impress me, but Vince pulled out all the stops at his March 16 show in Lowell, and for almost four hours made the audience forget about the nor'easter slamming the area outside.

Vince took the stage with a 16-piece band, that included a hot horn section, an excellent bass guitarist who worked tightly with the drummer, a very talented female fiddler -- one of the best I have heard, in fact. The whole band is remarkable. I've seen him several times over the years and I recognized many of the folks on stage with him as regular road partners.

In all, this made the fifth time I have seen Vince over the past 12 years (twice in San Antonio, once at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut, and once, a few years ago, at Meadowbook in New Hampshire). All his shows were great, but this one topped them all. He opened shortly after 8 p.m., played for 90 minutes, then took a half-hour break. He returned and played through (with encores) until close to 11:45 p.m. -- a good three hours and 15 minutes playing time on stage.

The weather was horrible, and it took nearly 45 minutes to make my normal 25 minute drive to Lowell, but it was worth it. You won't find a better show or a more talented entertainer (and a genuine person) for twice the money. And the way he chats to his audience, make it feel like he's there in your living room, talking one-on-one with you. Vince is the real deal.

You are talking to the choir! We all love Vince and have known for years that he is the real deal and just a wonderful human being along with being a very talented musician. You always get far more with one of his concerts than you think is possible. After going to his shows whenever possible it's a real letdown to go to one of these other ones that barely play 45 minutes or an hour. We went to a Trisha concert last summer and even tho I love her - she doesn't perform very long and no one else even comes close to Vince. He should have more accolades from the likes of CMT and ACM but they tend not to pay attention to anyone over 35 seems like now. And our local radio stations (2 country) never will play his music. We have to listen to cds or XM radio to hear him.

Warrior and Bluesman - It's always great to see new people post such wonderful comments about Vince's concert. Like some of the others here, I've been a fan a long time and always loved Vince Gill for all his musical talents. The new single "What You Give Away" is what Vince truly believes - in addition to being talented, he has a big heart. I hope radio will play it.

Carolyn and Freida ---

You folks are so right about Country radio and the age of performers, such as Vince. Vince makes no bones about his age, and I think he stepped on a few corporate radio toes several years ago, when he released "The Key" CD. On his tour, at the time, I remember him making some critical comments about radio ignoring the "old timers" who had paved the way for folks like himself and all the others.

Ironically, the two Country artists I enjoy and admire most, and who I try to see when they come around my area -- Vince and Billy Ray Cyrus -- have a hard time to get airplay. Both really give a lot to their fans and have huge hearts and kind souls. And both pretty much follow their hearts when it comes to their music and fans.

The station I most listen to locally -- WOKQ -- will slip a little Vince in the mix. A little bit is better than nada, but it could be more.

I love how he interacted with the crowd, and loved the answer when someone asked if he wore boxers or briefs. I believe he said he went comando, then started to laugh then said he wore briefs. That was something I didn't know.
Can't wait to see hime tonight in Beverely, Ma then tomorrow night back in Lowell.

So glad you enjoyed the concert. We saw him in Rochester, NY, and the experience was the same. He's just amazing! This was our first Vince concert and boy was it awesome! Anytime he comes around again, we're there.
