I know the media base charts track 24/7 but "What You Give Away" loses 7 spins over "last week"....I do not like that.
It needs to keep building! (And other songs around it are NOT losing spins).
Let's hope as more stations add it etc...that it has "strong" increases in spins.
This song deserves to be played.

Charlie,
I would't worry about it too much- since Mediabase monitors 24/7, all it means is that it lost one spin per day. It's kind of been "stuck" around 46-48, but this is the first time it's lost "spins". Check back later since they do post the information twice a day.

I just checked the Mediabase chart again, and it's sitting at #48 w/ no bullet and -7 spins.
IMO, one of the problems is that the song was never put on the Country Radio Promos that are sent to radio stations. I have copies of March, April, May and June, and the song isn't on any of them.

Like I said, I don't think there is anything to worry about yet. It went from #74 to #69 on the "Nasvhille Music Chart" When I checked the yes.com site earlier this afternoon I saw that at least 4 statons had played it already today. It is getting played on the Philly, Boston, OKC, and several TX stations- and all of them are "major markets" meaning the songs they play get ranked heavier than songs in other markets.
...and the Birmingham and Augusta(GA) stations just played it within the past hour.

Thanks Mary Anne....It's frustrating to see how long it takes for Vince songs to "climb" up the charts. But - slow and steady is better than no airplay at all!

Well as usual he isn't getting any airplay here. I've continued to call and can't get through. I wrote to Dave Pratt of KMLE Country and he responded with ,"Isn't that a great song and also The Reason Why?" That's it. Dave is a hugh Vince fan as are a lot of the dj's here but it's the powers that be who control the play list. Disgusting to me. I also request on the isquad site but think my efforts are futile.

I've been requesting to my station thru the I-squad, and I agree that the efforts are futile. I have YET to hear the song on WACO 100, which did play The Reason Why.
I'm definately really worried about the chart numbers...even though it moved up 2, the latest chart has it gaining only 1 spin.

What You Give Away....Well, so far it still does not look that good to me....while it has positive spins (10) on media base...it also shows an "audience" of 1.5 million....just a few weeks ago that audience was at over 2 million. Also, it now shows 14 major radio stations playing it....which means the Texas station dropped it.
Well that's how I read it anyway.
I know be patient....but it seems to have stalled at least for now.

Charilie,
I don't remember it being over 2 mill. at any time, but I could be wrong. KPLX in Dallas is still playing it. WUSN in Chicago just added it this week, KIIM in Tuscon is playing it a lot. You cna't really go by the "day to day" charts on Mediabase- yesteday it showed a gain of "18". I see it being played on different stations a lot when I go to the yes.com site-

Thanks Mary Anne,
I hope it continues to climb. I supppose I should quit worrying about it - what will be will be.

Take Care,
Charlie
