I couldn't find the thread that this was in so just had to vent. Went to Best Buy yesterday with my daughter. Looked for this CD. They had 4 older ones and checked the computer to see if they had the new one .......................Not in the store. I said,"What is the problem here, it's his new one" The guy was apologetic but no new Kenny CD. I told him I would go to Target or Walmart.

I bought 2 copies of it at Walmart, Anna...we don't have a Best Buy that is really close to us, so I have not looked there and don't shop there that often..definitely try Walmart, tho...we also finally got copies of Taylor Hicks single just a few days ago...they must have ordered a million copies of it for the Hoover Walmart (where we found it)...because Hoover is where Taylor is from...I had looked previously at the Bessemer Walmart and they didn't have a copy anywhere of Taylor's cd and didn't have a clue who did have one...
You gotta get this KR cd, Anna...I promise you won't be disappointed...when you get it, tell me how you like the song 'The Last 10 Years'...k??? It's a real tear jerker...and it's just before the song 'You'll Know Love' that Vince sings with Kenny on...

Becky, how does the song "You'll Know Love" sound? Is it slow or fast and how does the KR and Vince vocal blending sound?

One cool thing that happened.........I received a $25.00 Target gift card because I spent money on one of my credit card. Called to make sure and they confirmed it was mine and assured me that Target would be hoping I would spend more than the $25.00

. I want Alan Jackson's Precious Memories too. So the 2 will be kind of free and I think free is a great 4 letter word.

That's great, Anna!!! Can't think of a better way to spend a Target gift card than getting new cd's...!!!
SRobin, 'You'll Know Love' is a beautiful slow ballad...not to try to give away the whole song, but the entire phrase is 'You'll Know Love When You've Lost It'...sad, but a very pretty song, anyway...you can clearly make out Vince's background vocals on the song and on 1 section of the song, he echo's Kenny by singing 'some bridges will not burn'...just thinking about it gives me chill bumps!!! I'll be honest when I say that I love this entire cd, the songs that Kenny picked for it are all wonderful, they flow naturally into each other while still sounding different and having Vince singing with Kenny on that song is just the best of both worlds, if you ask me!!! I have several times backed up that part of the song just to hear Vince when echos Kenny on that one section...that song alone is worth the price of the cd, but if you like Kenny Rogers at all, you will love this cd..I've been buying Kenny's cds since they were just albums..I think I have all of them in one form or another and I have to say that if I had to pick a favorite KR album, it would have to be 'Water & Bridges'...something magical about this whole collection of songs...yep, KR still HAS IT 'after all these years'...!!!
This is one of the best Kenny Cd's I have bought. There isn't a song on there that I don't like and I think all of them have a good meaning or thought behind them.
I have to agree with Becky, when Vince echos Some Bridges Will Not Burn. It makes the song. Although Kenny does a good job that extra Vince makes the whole song. It does give you chills.
I love the whole CD and having Vince on it giving you chills is an extra bonus.

Thanks Becky and Deb for all the great descriptions of this song. I guess it's another kind of follow up to "Which Bridge to Cross and Which Bridge to Burn" (LOL) Kinda like betwixt and between. That's probably true for both KR and Vince. In any event, I'll have to check this song out on iTunes, seeing that my budget might not be able to include the entire Kenny album at this time.

Thanks again!

Got that record and all I have to say is ,I teared through most of it. I love it and think it's Kenny's best work. Now that is an understatement All the songs are just fantastic. Superman broke me up. Water and Bridges is really a thought provoking one liked the one w/Don Henley (always loved Don's voice) .................now guess my fav ????????
I am so happy I found it. I had 3 people looking for it at Target and no one could find it. I went on about my shopping and about 15 minutes later here comes this young man around the corner. They were looking all over for me. They had 2 copies in the store. YIPPEE SKIPPEE

Am so happy you found a copy of 'Water & Bridges', Anna!!! I absolutely love this cd !!! It has not left my rotation in my cd changer in the car since I put it in there about 2 or 3 months ago!!! It's one of those cds that you never get tired of listening to and when you start listening, you don't notice that the cd is almost over before you know it...all of the songs flow so well into the next song and the theme of the songs are all very meaningful...gotta love those background vocals on 'You'll Know Love' !!! What a great surprise!!! Vince and Kenny sound great together!!!

Vince and Kenny sound great together!!!
They sure do Becky. Kenny has always had good judgement when it comes to his music. I have heard him interviewed many times and he is a very smart when it comes to the music and is a very good entertainer . Always gets the best people on his records.
I watched Dolly Parton's Greatest Moments and man did they ever do great together. Him and Dolly and Dotty West. What a trio
