What song do you guys think?
That's an interesting question, Reggie. Since Vince is nominated for album of the year he could sing any of the songs off the boxed set, not necessarily the single he has out now. He has 43 choices. Wonder if it's his choice or the ACM people.

I think he'll do an upbeat song but you know I would love it if EmmyLou would join him and do Some Things Never Get Old. I listened to most of the set yesterday morning and that song just puts goose bumps on me. The other 42 does too but I just love the part about the baby walking for the first time. Simple lyrics but so genius in the writing and the melody is just beautiful .

Probably "What You Give Away".

I'm also hoping for "What You Give Away" because hopefully the publicity from him singing it on the show will help push it up the charts.

I think you hit it on the head. An upbeat song worked well on the Tonight show with "Sweet Thing".

Anna, once again you and I think just alike! I swear on that part in "Some Things Never Get Old" where he mentions the baby walking for the first time, you can "hear" the smile in his voice. It makes me get teary-eyed every gosh darn time. That song is one of my very favorites.
But - I am kinda hoping he sings What You Give Away at the show -- to help give the song a boost on the charts.

Yeah ,That would be nice if the song could get more air play. I know I have harped on this to the point of over kill but our radio stations out here just have not played that song or The Reason Why ( very few times ). I get so upset . This man has more talent in his pinky than most ( I'll go one step farther, than anyone you hear on radio today )Still say not one other person could have done this box set and yes , I am most definitely prejudiced for Vince . So many sound the same . Makes no difference who you listen to . I can't even tell one from the other and that's guys and girls.

Vince said he is going to sing Sweet Thing on the show. He said it this am on the count down.

Good choice. Maybe that'll be the next single. I missed the count down. The radio in Laughlin got one country station and the tv got none.

SO GLAD HE DID "SWEET THING"!! MAN, he rocked it!!! I couldn't stop whooping and smiling through the whole performance... and I thought about all you guys. What a fantastic performance! Hopefully this will be the next single and they will release it to radio SOON.

I think it's a great summertime song.
