This was a casino show. So these shows are ALWAYS shorter than normal. It was close to two hours long. The casinos don't want people away from the slots & tables for very long. The weather at this gig was perfect from 4p.m. right up until show time. Then when showtime hit it got a bit cool. Near the end of the gig it was downright cold to us longtime Californians! But Vinny & band were great as usual. Chad Cromwell the new drummer fit in pretty well with Billy Thomas singing (arm in a sling!). It is now a 17 pieceband plus Vinny!!! It was well worth the 2 1/2 hr jaunt. I should have a sticker on my car saying "I'd rather be at a Vince Gill Concert"!!!! Fun night! Plus I talked to alot of people after the show at the Casino Hotel & not a bad word was said by anyone!!!!!!

Reggie, didn't know you were going to be there. Sorry I missed you. It was a great night. It was only an hour for me from San Diego. You had a longer trip. 2 hrs & 20 minutes of Vince plus I got to meet him for the 1st time. Just got a little cold but I was expecting that and came prepared with the right clothing.

I just got back from Laughlin late last night. About 20 people at M&G . Went real quick .

Have to tell this. I met a woman from Bismark,ND It was her anniversary .Her and hubby own 2 restaurants and hardly get away. She is a club member. They flew from Bismark to Vegas,rented a car and drove to Laughlin for the concerts. It was her first and she was so nervous. There were only 3 club members with M&G .My daughter's birthday is May 29 th. and I was going to have the cell ready to see if he would tell her Happy Birthday.........................the M&G was behind the bus and I know Vince has great hearing but I thought better of it because the bus was running. Pretty noisy. Anyway,he shook hands and said Hi I'm Vince. I said I know who you are Mr. and he said well I never want to be presumptuous. Isn't that just typical ????


O.K. The show started on time,as usual .Most of the first hour he sang all oldies. That really got the crowd going. I sure can't remember all the songs he did but those who have seen this tour know pretty much that he mixes them . For 2 hours he did a lot of music and that guitar was smoking !!!!! He was having a slight sneezing problem. Sneezed right in the middle of a song. He said he thought it was the first time that had ever happened. He said y'all sure are dry out here. Added, It's great nose pickin' weather. Asked if we knew the greatest place in the world was to pick your nose then said in your car while you're driving. Then he looked to either side and said no one's looking . He wore shorts ,tee shirt and flip-flops. Said when it got to 90 he didn't wear pants. He was in a good mood. Someone ask where Amy was and he said they had a nephew getting married that day and he was the only one in the family who didn't attend so we knew how popular he was right then. Said he had to work to help pay for the wedding. Prior to When I Call Your Name ,he remarked that the song had made it affordable for him to buy a house he no longer could afford to live in but he was smart cause he married Amy and she was loaded. I swear he could have been a stand up comic.

Don't want to leave the praise out for that fantastic band ( the best ) and that Bekka Bramlett ,love to watch her. She really gets so into the whole thing.

I took the river taxi back to my hotel and one lady remarked that he looked like he just rolled out of bed>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I just hate it when people don't think . She said he should have worn jeans??????? Can ya believe some of the things that offend ??? I offered her my expertise and told her he probably had not been up to long because he had done a show in Ca. the night before. A few older people left early . Guess I can understand to a point but I would have to be dead before I would leave one of his shows before it's over or any for that matter .
Anyway that's my Mother's Day weekend and I loved the concert and getting a M&G . I had a lot of time on my hands Sunday so I spent money .......... and no I did not win any .

Linda, yes, I have a picture. I'm so surprised it actually came out. I haven't put the photos on the computer yet but I checked it on the display after the M & G. I was showing it to the ladies sitting next to me. I know more than 10 people requested the M & G because the lady next to me applied and was ticked that she didn't get picked. We went backstage and all the buses were parked behind the stage. Vince walked off the bus and came over to us. It went real fast. I was so so nervous but Vince was really sweet signing things and posing for photos with everybody.

I'm glad your pic turned out Joan. I was thrilled when I finally had my own pix of Vince. Yes the m&g does whizz by fast, but not because Vince is in any hurry, if he was any more laid back, he'd be horizontal !
