Ok, I'd like to know after how many albums an artist is no longer considered a 'new' artist. Craig Morgan is in that category and he's now on his, oh, like 6th or 7th album...and has been around since 2001.

Valerie,
I thought the same thing...I was shocked when I heard his name!

I'd love to know how they determine that an artist is 'new'. There really should be some kind of limit as to how many albums an artist has had out in order to consider them a new artist. Josh Turner would have definately fit better in the New Male Vocalist category...he's only on his second album. And wasn't Craig nominated in the New Male Vocalist category *last* year, also? Seems like it to me...
Anyways, the reason I could pinpoint 2001 as about the time Craig first came on the 'scene' is because there was a free concert in Davie, and Craig was one of the artists appearing. Was hoping to make his show that day, but didn't make it.

That fries my brain. I told my friend the same thing. Craig Morgan ..................new artist ????????????? who makes up these list or whatever they are called. He should have been in favorite male performer. I also think Tim McGraw should have won Entertainer of the year. Again ,my opinion. Glad Brad won for male vocalist .

The same thing happens on the CMA's sometimes for the Horizen award....not sure how they determine "new" or "up and coming" I suppose.

One day they'll refer to Craig as "an over night success" !!!!!!
