Just wanted to let everybody know that I haven't been on the board because we had to put my Mama in the hospital on Tuesday. She had a fall at the house (nothing broke, thank God), but please keep her and us (decision making) in your prayers. I'll be off and on the board for a short time in the next week or so. We're getting her in a Rehab facility for about 2 weeks (she's either afraid to walk by herself or needs the help and confidence to get started again). She'll then come home and we'll probably need to get Home Health in for a while. Thanks and I miss you guys.

Prayers for you and your family - especially Mama and her health. It must be hard to make decisions for parents - I too will be faced with that someday soon I'm afraid. Will keep you all in my prayers.

Debbie, Sorry to hear about your Mama's problems. Prayers for her and your family.

I live around a retirement community and a lot of my clients are in the same position as your Mom and you. It's very hard. My thoughts are with you.

Prayers are with you and your decision making. Best to Mom!

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom's health problems...I'm sending prayers and hope that everything works out ok...we'll miss you while you're away from the boards...do take care and know that everything will work out for the best...
Debbie O. Fennell
I really appreciate everybody's concern and prayers. We're moving Mama to a Rehab Facility tomorrow for about 2 to 3 weeks to see if they can get her up and walking again. If not, we'll deal with that when the time comes. I know one thing that could possibly get her spirits up - talking to Vince again. LOL Bless her heart - she'll never forget that time.

Thanks Lou! It means a lot to have "buddies" like all of you. I will give Mama all of your love and prayers.

Debbie, sure hope things start to brighten up soon and will keep "mama" and your family in my prayers. It's so hard to deal with the situation as we all get older and we now become the adults and our parents become the children..listening to us tell them what they need to do. Since I've "been there, done that" I can certainly sympathize with both sides. Sometimes we have to make choices out of necessity and not what we would normally want to choose. God speed.

Debbie O. Fennell
Well, we have her settled in the Rehab facility and should know something concrete in about 2 weeks. Thanks for everybodys well wishes and prayers. I will keep you up to date.

Becky
That's good to hear, Debbie...I know that it takes a weight off your shoulders just knowing that she is settled into the rehab facility...we'll keep your Mother and all of you in our prayers..thanks for keeping us up to date with what is going on with her...
Debbie O. Fennell
Well, Mama got home yesterday. Things are going to be quite a bit different around here. She IS walking a little with her walker but is needing assistance getting up and getting down. Thank God for my family. We're trying to come up with a plan to take turns doing certain things for her. We did all go to Church this morning and that seemed to work out well. I know this is going to take quite a toll on all of us, but you know, you do what you have to do. I have faith that the Lord won't put on me more than I can handle. I would appreciate any and all prayers for her. Thanks for being there for me.

Vince, you have no idea how many people you've brought together in one way or another, for strength as one; sharing; and friendship. I hope to actually tell you that some time. I'm just proud that I'm your fan and that you allow the Lord to use you in such a mighty way. We love you, not only for the music, but for your loving ways. Thanks for being such an inspiration. Always a fan!!!!

Becky
Hey Debbie...glad to know that you Mother is home now...I do pray that she will continue to get better...having to take care of someone full-time can definitely take a toll on you physically and emotionally...hopefully, you can all take turns and things will be easier for everyone...please continue to keep us up to date on how things are going...and remember that we're all here for you!!!

Debbie O. Fennell
Thanks Laura and Lois! All prayers are being answered.

Lois, I know how it is, getting on here once in a while, it's been like that for me for about a month now.

Laura, she's doing better. Seems to be getting a little stronger every day, and a little more confident of herself. It's been quite a long time coming, but I see a little more sunshine every day. Thanks.

Charlene
I hope the sun keeps shinning for you.... smile.gif

I know how you feel, its not that easy.....
Debbie O. Fennell
Charl, thanks for your sweet words of kindness.

Becky
Glad to see your Mama is improving, Debbie...you all remain in my prayers...
Debbie O. Fennell
Thanks Beka! I think of you, Bruce, and Maegan a lot too. Hope all is well with all of you. Not traveling for a while?? wink.gif
Becky
No, we're at home for a while!!! Maegan starts back to school on Thursday, so she is spending the last weekend with Bruce's Mom...she'll be back home tomorrow. The next trip we have planned is to see Amy in Atlanta on 8/26. My Mother's b'day is on 8/27...she'll be 75yo!!! So, we're taking her to see Amy the night before as part of her b'day present...and we're saving up money to pay for that Vegas trip in December!!! Of course, if Vince should decide to do the Opry again sometime soon and we can get decent seats, well, I'd be happy to hop in the car for a drive up to Nashville!!!
Debbie O. Fennell
Wow, you're Mom will be 75! They sure age quickly don't they? Sometimes it's hard to think of my Mama being 77 = I still think of her as in her 40's; to me, she was old then!!! LOL

Sure wish Vegas wasn't far from me, but with all I have going on, Charlotte may be my only chance this year to see Vince. If not, I'll wait to next year. Don't want to, but I will.
Becky
Well, Vegas is a bit far for us, but we're going anyway!!! I told Bruce last year that if/when Vince went back to Vegas, I wanted to go too..and he agreed, so when the Vegas concerts got booked, we made our plans to go. We decided to make it our Christmas present to each other...so it's a little less 'painful' financially that way!!!

Debbie, sure hope you get to see Vince in Charlotte this year...maybe it will all work out so you can go...hope so!!!
Anna Leighton
Debbie,I laughed when you said you thought she was old at 40. I started thinking about my Grandma in that way when she was in her 60's. I used to say ,"We better go see Granny,She might not be with us next year." Well I stopped saying that at her 80th. b'day party and she lived into her 90's.

I lost my Mom at 52 from cancer.
