Shirl,If I am not mistaken it is a Dishnet channel .I checked out the site a bit and there are several listed under (RaveHD) That leaves me out.I just have digital cable.

Will have to check that out, Anna...I have Dishnetwork, but I don't think I have those channels and I have the 'Everything' package that they offer...we do get some of the Sirius channels along with that, but I don't think we get the RAVE...I think HD stands of High Definition and we don't have a high definition tv...and we won't until this one croaks...LOL!!!

This stuff is all way over my head. But I did threaten my cable company (with getting a dish )

the other day.

Don't blame you, Anna!!! We switched from cable to dish years ago and we've never regretted it!!!

Well , I don't really have a problem with the company as far as service with the exception that I can not find VH1 Country. One day it was there now it is some other country station . That's o.k. though and I know this is off topic but I am going for it any way.
I've had this cable service for 11 years and I spaced my June payment ( I pay all my bills through online banking). Guess I just had a lot on my mind. They called me at home .I was working so when I saw the number I called them back and discovered the missed payment .Now mind you my cable bill is not due until around 23rd. of the month. So I apologized and immediately went online and made the payment. Well due to the 4 th. of July holiday it wouldn't reach them til the 7th. (I refused to pay the late fee and they waived it) .Before the 7th. I got a notice that the June payment AND the July payment was due upon receipt. Well I go back in to my online banking and canceled that payment and paid the 2 months. Before that could go through I got a disconnect notice. I had a bad day at work and went through the roof.
I told the guy I spoke with that I was not making it personal just like I knew the disconnect was not personal. However I had been a customer for a very long time and had never been late or missed a payment. He apologized and ask if there was anything else that he could help me with and I said yes there is..................If there is any place on my account that you can make a note to NEVER send me another disconnect notice because if I ever got another one they could come and get the box and disconnect my high speed Internet and phone service (package deal) and I would get a dish. I understand that the billing office does not review the account prior to sending disconnect notices but my July payment wasn't even due for 3 weeks. Really made me angry and I probably won't ever forget another payment but given the same scenario I will most definitely get a dish .

Can't blame you, Anna...that sounds like a nightmare!!! Just FYI, we have dishnetwork and they don't carry VH1 Country...I do get GAC and CMT tho...would love to have VH1 Country and maybe dishnetwork will add it one day...we started out with directv and I bugged them for about 3 years constantly to add GAC and they wouldn't do it, so I got tired of bugging them and we switched to dishnetwork...we've had really good luck with our dishnetwork system...we have a dual receiver with 100mg hard drive in the living room, an older single receiver with 60mg hard drive in the bedroom and and regular receiver with no hard drive upstairs in the bonus room...I have lots of shows that I just never delete at all !!! So I can go back and watch them over and over again!!!

Anna, just to let you know, VH1 Country doesn't exist anymore. May 31st CMT took it over and it's now called CMT Pure Country. It's not too bad, I've watched it a little bit and so far they are concentrating on playing music videos. As long as they do that and don't put any of those stupid programs from CMT on it. They are also showing those studio sessions on it that CMT has up on their website. But I still have to say I kind of miss VH1 Country. They were always the first channel to play the new videos.

Joan,Like I said one day it was there the next ..................it's magic. I never did know when it changed. The other one isn't bad but I do agree about the stuff they run on CMT. Once in a blue mon you can find something but for the most part I think it's down the tube

Thanks for the info about VH1 Country, Joan...I wasn't aware that CMT had taken over the channel...oh well..don't have that one either...am getting pretty tired of CMT playing movies and the Dukes of Hazzard all the time...I do enjoy a good western, but I've got plenty of movie channels to see good westerns on...and Dukes of Hazzard is kind of a TVLAND type series to me..not something that should be on CMT...I do watch CMT for special programs..but for videos, I watch GAC 99% of the time...

I totally agree with you, Becky. Not that I know anything but I was sort of thinking CMT somewhere down the line may do what MTV did, and move all the videos over to this new channel, CMT Pure Country. Not that CMT plays all that many videos right now. But I remember when MTV moved all their videos over to MTV2. We'll have to see what they do with these two channels in the future. It's hard to believe but I read somewhere that CMT actually doubled their audience with all the stupid programs they have been putting on their channel.

You can't be serious, Joan??? So there are that many people out there that are happy to watch movies and Dukes of Hazzard on CMT??? That's crazy...
I sure would like to see VH1 Country sometime..I don't think we've ever even stayed anywhere that had that station either...I think that Nashville was one of the last places to get GAC a few years back...I remember going to the convention center during fan fair about 4 years ago and seeing the GAC booth for the first time and Bruce & I both wondered what is 'GAC'??? LOL!!! Now, I don't think I could do without that station!!! If nothing else, I love watching the Opry every week...but, I also tend to like the Top 20 Countdown of videos from GAC better than CMT as well...

No, Debbie, Vince won't be on the televised portion.
BTW, just saw the new Country Music Across America tonight. They did a segment on the Ray Charles exhibit at the HOF. They showed some of the Ray Charles tribute at the Opry and had Vince on to talk a little bit about Ray.

We changed to Dish Network and have been really happy with it. Used to have Comcast and they were always turning off our reception to hook up the many new houses going in near us and were so arrogant about it all that we switched and same day we took their boxes back in for a credit and then they had the nerve to send us a bill for over $600 for those same boxes! Of course, we didn't have to pay them but I never want anything from them again! Freida

Well, Comcast shut down our CMT. We have satellite, but only on the main living room and master bedroom. All the other 100 TV's in the house are Comcast *L*. So, now I can't even watch CMT on the treadmill or in the kitchen....big pain!!!! Not that I've been watching a lot of CMT anyway, but when I want to.....I want to!!!!!!

I know what you mean, Trish. I prefer to watch GAC by a wide margin but still it's good to have CMT when they actually decide to put something good on. It may be very seldom but once in a while they do.

Me too, Anna. Sometimes I even forget which channel number CMT is on and have to look it up, I watch it so seldom. But I still want to have it available just in case. I guess I'm holding out hope that Vince will appear on the Crossroads program sometime in my lifetime!

I watch GAC over CMT, but neither one very often. Did you see that CMT is having a "HeeHaw Weekend"?? I wonder if they will show the old episodes in reruns on CMT regularly now?? I would like to see the one with Vince again--he was such a young pup when he was on there!! There are some good "oldies" on there, and I would like to see the shows again. I was just a kid and didn't appreciate country music when it was on regularly...silly kid!!

I really like The Crossroads series. I loved it when Mellissa Ethridge and Dolly Parton was on. That was who Dolly was on with, right ?I think it's really good when the diferent genres of music come together. Also really enjoyed the songs Dolly and Norah Jones did together. I think Vince and Norah would be good together .Gives you incite to more of the artist talent. Even though we have our favorites I still like to see and hear other types of music they can do and most do it so well.
