We all know I am Johnny Lover....lol...So, I am kind of biased....lol... wink.gif

Regardless of some critics, I enjoyed it....It held true to Disney form..Makeup, Wardrobe, CGI, Scenery was great. (alot of CGI)..lol...Gross charactors....No shortage on the props....

It didn't feel like, over 2 hours to me...You all know the story line...So I won't say much....I most likely will go see it again, alone with my husband in a few weeks...

It held returning humour, (things or sayings from the previous movie)but it did have a little bit of new humour.., but other than that it was a pirate movie..A couple of scenes made me gasp...lol...He still runs like a girl....His antics are funny..I love his charactor he plays him so well...... I really liked the fortune-teller played very well by Naomie Harris, she was great.I actually liked how they put her charactor and her in the movie....Worked well... The ending was what I didn't expect...I was like what, its ending now....grrrrr...

I think some, you know critics, go into these movies (sequels) and expect this extravagant, over the top, blown out movie and its really not the case...Thats what they are, just stories, continuing on...nothing more...I hold this attitude when I go in and I'm never disappointed...

Charlene,
My kids and I can't wait to see this movie. I thought Johnny Depp was great in the first one. I read that he based the character a little bit on Kieth Richards. blink.gif They are currently filming the third one which will be out next summer, and Keith Richards is slated to be in it.
Debbie O. Fennell
Bill and I are definitely going to see this one soon. He LOVED the first movie. Jack is a trip!!!!

We saw this one last Friday and enjoyed it too. Agree with some very creative "sea creature" makup. Lots of special effects, funny moments and some clever sword fighting scenes.
Nice to have all the same lead actors back for this one and the 3rd sequel too.

We are hoping to get there next week, schedules have been so hectic lately. We absolutely LOVED the first one and Johnny Depp is so "over the top"....you gotta love a movie that's just pure entertainment.

Well, we saw 'Superman Returns' this weekend...all I can say is wished we had seen 'Pirates of the Carribean' instead...maybe we can see Pirates sometime soon...loved the first one!!!
trish
That's funny, Becky, because it's "Superman" that's getting the better reviews....but then, what do critics know anyway? It's the moving going public that chooses and Pirates set a box off record for the weekend of OVER 132 million dollars!!!!!

Guess I'll wait on both movies. Not really a big fan of either characters. Like the actors though .Well, Chris Reeves, as Superman. I always thought he was a much better actor than the Superman movies.
Charlene
Your right "Pirates" is not getting good reviews....But the money is pouring in....lol....Seqeuls, very rarely get good reviews....

But I just love Johnny Depp and the others...So, he can spit in the wind, and I'll watch it..... tongue.gif

Probably for Superman, I'll rent it for the kids, when it comes out...I prefer the older ones...

I wish Holly wood would be become more creative...I am actually tired of seeing and hearing about re-makes...

If we get a chance to see Pirates while it's still in the theaters, we will go...may not happen tho...we wanted to see both movies, so Bruce let me out at the front of the movie theater and he went to find a place to park...and the idea was just to pick the movie that was the next one showing..happened to be 'Superman Returns'...I can think of about a dozen things that I didn't like about the movie and not alot that I did like about it...they just didn't do a good job of telling the Superman story...and I think the actor overdid the 'dorkiness' of Clark Kent...I guess I'm spoiled by watching Tom Welling play a young Clark Kent in Smallville...Bruce & I were discussing that we would like to see Smallville go on for another 2 or 3 years (until Clark finishes college) and then let them end the Smallville show and cast Tom Welling in as Superman in the next movie...so we could see him as a full-fledged and with all the powers that go with it, Superman...I think he would do a great job in a Superman movie...also would have liked to have seen a bit of humor in the Superman movie and it just wasn't there...that's one thing that I'm sure we would have seen if we had gone to see Pirates...I think Johnny Depp is a wonderful actor..he's a bit of a strange person when I've seen him interviewed, but he appears to be a brilliant actor in my opinion...
