Listening to my radio this afternoon and the dj plays Toby Keith and afterwards says "Mr. Oklahoma...he put that state on the map and he's about the ONLY thing good to come out of Oklahoma." Well, you guys can imagine that I SAW RED!!!!! I called up immediately and said "I take great offense in what you said about Toby." He interrupted me and said "I can't believe the calls I'm getting on this one....you're going to say "Garth." I told him that was NOT who I had in mind. I said "I'm thinking Vince Gill." He said "Vince is from Oklahoma????" DUHHHHHHH!!!!! I said "you can apologize and play something of Vince's for me.....anything, because everything he does is great!!!!!" He took my name and a dedication and shortly after played "Pretty Little Adrianna."

Way to go Trish! Can't believe he didn't know Vince was from Oklahoma. Glad you got to hear a Vince song even if you had to shame him into ti.

Good for you, Trish!! That was the Philly station, right? I can't remember the call letters, but I know they're a sister station of the Miami country radio station, and that the former Program Director from Miami was sent to the Philly station and that I'm sure he's a Vince fan, because they always played a lot of Vince when he was at the station, so I'm very surprised that the DJ got away with saying that about Toby and managing to forget that *several* other artists came out of Oklahoma, not only Toby! Reba was probably the first big Okie superstar, followed by Vince and Garth.

Actually, he did say he forgot about Reba, too when I mentioned Vince. I do get to hear plenty of Vince, but this is a fairly new dj for us and he told me yesterday that he's leaving in a couple of weeks and guess where he's going?????>......Oklahoma!!!!! I told him he better study before he gets there *L*. I was so rushed yesterday because we were heading to a Philly's game, so I forgot about Reba and all.
Valerie, the station is WXTU and they are good about Vince.

When we were at the lunch Vince spoke of Carrie Underwood and I ask if he or ayone had heard her sing the National Anthem at one of the Nascar races. He said he had not and then added that she was an Okie. I told him that Oklahoma bred some great singers. He said yeah they were good breeders there

. Bryan White can be added to the above list also.

And it's Bob McKay (sp) who left WKIS in Miami for WXTU. He's definately good about Vince...he was when he was in Miami. After he left, they seemed to, like most other stations, forget Vince even exists in country music.

You go, Shirl. I have no problem with some of Toby's songs, but the guy just doesn't interest me at all. Then when you look at that list and the add-ons....this dj was totally off his rocker!!!!!!

Two other talented Okies are Joe Don Rooney from Rascal Flatts, and my other new favorite, Keith Anderson, who won or was runner up for the Mr. Oklahoma body building competition, in addition to being a brainy guy!!

Oh Mary, Keith must be hiding that type of body under his clothes *L*. Didn't realize about Joe Don...those Rascals are really growing on me.

Well after seeing Keith Anderson the last couple of years, I can tell you that he's a pretty 'buff' guy...I met him at the COH softball game a year ago and we saw him at Chely's benefit and again at the Opry this past June...and I wouldn't have any trouble believing he was/is a bodybuilder...hence, one of the songs on his able titled 'XXL'..!!! Double XL LOL!!!
I like Rascal Flatts, but I can't seem to feel like they are very country..they are a wonderfully talented group and they seem really nice!!! Just hope that they decide to keep their clothes on in their videos from now on...LOL!!!

Wasn't Keith Anderson across the street when we were at the luncheon? There was someone that Sara's daughter was going spazo

about. She saw him going into the building across the street from the parking lot behind Judge Beans. Shw got a picture os a whole line of people .

Yeah, that was Keith Anderson's party going on at 12th & Porter..that was across the stree from Judge Bean's that day...I never did see him..although some people saw him out there sitting on car or bus or something when we were getting ready to leave...
And Mary...I did finally buy Keith's cd and I do like it alot!!! Thanks for the great review of the cd...I think that Keith is a really talented songwriter and singer...and it doesn't hurt that he's cute...only 1 question...is there hair underneath that bandanna he's always wearing, or is he bald???
