I have not been on here in ages. Actually this new board is so different from the other. I've been without a computer for some time, but have re-registered and ready to hear all about everyone's Vince-experiences.
I saw Vince Saturday night here in CT. He was still not feeling well so he sang as much as he could and I can tell you he did a GREAT job. He kidded around about singing like a man....lol.
I had only seen Amy once before at a Christmas show they did together and I was dying for them to sing "House of Love" this time, which they did (Amy did most of the singing). That made the show for me. Corrina was the "child" presence, as Amy stated, with her hula hoop doing a fantastic job. Dawn Sears sang, Del McCroury Band was great. It was a magical night. I too got a meet & greet through the fan club, Thank you. It was the 3rd time "meeting" Vince and I still was tongue-tied. The man just makes me weak in the knees. He was gracious and took time with all of his fans even though it was obvious that he didn't feel well. I will continue to worship this man for everything that he is. Father, husband, singer, musician and friend to all. I will also continue to have my Vince Gill Day at work and drive everyone insane....lol.

Well Vince Gill Day at my job consists of alot of food, Vince music playing, stickers for all to wear and trivia contest. Every year that Vince appears in CT (no matter where in CT it is), I have Vince Gill Day that day. This year he appeared on Saturday so VG Day was on Friday. We have a room at my job called the wine room which is actually the old meeting room (when our company was very small). I along with other co-workers make food or bring desserts, snacks etc. I go around in the morning greeting everyone "Happy Vince Gill Day" and hand them their stickers to wear (that proudly say the same). The wine room is filled with Vince singing and I hang up pictures and such to make the atmosphere just right. The trivia is a contest, this year I did 15 questions and handed out 3 prizes. I've been doing this since 1999 and also have a party every year for Vince's birthday. The year Vince and Amy got married, we had a wedding reception at work and a baby shower when Corrina was born. All of my co-workers brought in baby gifts and we donated them to the United Way. This was just my way to bring a little "Vince" to everyone's lives who didn't even know who he was. Now on a daily basis people come up to me and tell me they saw Vince on this show or heard his song on the radio and it makes me feel good. I have brought Vince to people that normally wouldn't even give him a second glance because they might not like "country" music.
So, that's my story of VG Day at my job here in CT. smile.gif

That is outstanding, MaryBeth! What an imagination, and how nice to donate the baby gifts! biggrin.gif Kay S.
