We are going to the Opry early show this Sat night. Staying two nights at the OPRYLAND HOTEL! It is our 35th anniversary. How rare is that "These Days" Vince was my first love in country Music. It would be awesome if he came to the Opry and sang "Look At Us" for me and Tommy. Pass this on to Vince! wink.gif JUST DREAMMING! biggrin.gif Brenda

Hi....
Well, I will keep my fingers crossed that your dream comes true!!! I just got back from Nashville and I stayed at the Opryland hotel and went to the 2 Opry shows.....It was fantastic!!! So, even if Vince is unable to show up I bet you will have an awesome anniversary!!! Have a great time and congrats on your anniversary!

You lucked out, Brenda. Just checking the Opry website and Vince is hosting both the 8:30 & 11 p.m. shows. Now you just have to get a message to Vince. Good luck, maybe it will happen.

Give a note to one of the ushers and explain what it is- that's the only I know of to get it to Vince.
BJ from Ky
I just got so excited! Did you hear me??? I checked out Opry website and saw Vince's name. It is 5am, do you think I woke up the neighborhood? biggrin.gif I may try to get a note to Vince. tongue.gif Thanks for the hint. Myhusband has been jealous of Vince for years, because I love his music so much. He is not a country music fan. I can't believe he is going to tour Nashville. I am hoping this will get him to be a big fan like me. He will get to hear Vince Live. He has to like him, his voice is so awesome. I am so ready to go now! We have never stayed at the Opryland Hotel. I toured it once, but Tommy has never been there. Am I rattling on & on??? I guess I am too excited!

Brenda,Just have a great time and Happy Anniversary .Tommy will convert after a Vince show laugh.gif

You're very lucky! Wish I was going. I'm a fan of his music and pickin'. BTW...happy 35th anniversary. 35 years is ALOT to be proud of. I just realized he is in Nashville this weekend. I'm 49 and have NEVER seen him. I would go this weekend, as it is only about 2.0 hours from home, but my wife is seeing a surgeon this morning for gallstones and will probably be scheduled for surgery. I hope she is..she has been hurting really bad for the past week, and needs relief! sad.gif

This is my first post here, and I think I'll join the fan club since I found this forum.

I hope he will sing "Look at Us" for you and your husband. That would be a fantastic lifelong memory! smile.gif My wife loves that song, and I sing it to her sometimes. We've got 24 years together so far.

Thanks for your kindness. I'd be happy just to get to a concert. I guess meeting him would be over the top! He came to Huntsville, Al. and I missed that concert. I read local reviews, and they were awesome. He was joking with a lady in the audience that was trying to film him illegally. He was still very kind to her, and joked about it. He must have a real good personality.

Hey Jim,
Welcome to the website! We will be pulling for your wife's full recovery. I've been down that road with that particular surgery and it went pretty easy.
Yes.................You really do need to go to a Vince concert! If you join the fan club you will be able to throw your hat in the ring once a year to get a back stage pass to meet him. He is exactly the same in person as you see him on TV or the stage. Awsome personality and a very very caring and humble person. That's why we all love him! He also just happens to be the most talented person in country music. I've met him twice, once at a baskstage pass and I hijacked him once on the sidewalk after a concert! Join the club and get to know him and us!!!Godd luck to your wife.

Thanks for the warm welcome...and she did well through the surgery today. I've got her home now. She's still in quite a bit of pain for now...but we're glad it's behind her! I hope the show goes well for the anniversary couple. smile.gif

Ok BJ from KY..we're waiting to hear.....did you get to hear the songs you wanted to hear? smile.gif

I listened online to both shows. Vince sang "This New Heartache" on both shows. He sang "Look At Us" on the first show, but it wasn't for BJ- he said he got a note from a couple(he said their names and it wasn't BJ) who were celebrating their 54th anniversary. On the second show he also sang "When I Call Your Name".
BJ from Ky
tongue.gif I did slip a note to an usher. When I saw Vince reading a note , I got so excited. Then he said there was a couple celebrating an anniversary and I got even more excited. Then he said 54 years and I knew it wasn't us. He asked the couple to come down front and dance! I don't know if we could of done that! It was really nice seeing the older couple dancing. I was not disappointed, because they deserved that. He sang LOOk At Us, so I was very HAPPY. Maybe he picked that song for them because of my note. I hope he did get to read mine. We had an awesome time at the Opry and around town. We stayed at the Opry land Hotel and toured the Ryman and Country Music Hall of Fame. My husband really enjoyed it. He admitted he liked the old stuff and history. Got our picture taken on stage at the Ryman, holding guitars and pretending we were performing. Love that picture! I took over 300 pictures this past weekend. biggrin.gif

We did the picture thing on stage. It gave me chills just thinking of all who had walked across that stage over the years! I'm sorry you didn't get the personal dedication, but it sounds like yall had a great time anyway! My wife and I will be in Nashville in October this year on a company trip. We plan on doing some more sightseeing between meetings. biggrin.gif

I really need to go back to the Ryman and do the picture thing again. I had a picture of me onstage w/guitar...it was a keychain thing, and it was either in my grandmother's purse when it got stolen, or it got lost when we moved from FL. sad.gif I tried making a copy from a picture my father had taken of the picture, but it kept coming out blurry.

Our picture came out so good. I am going to get it enlarged and frame it. I have really enjoyed looking at all of tem. Especially the Ryman ones. I am ready for a Vince concert. It has been too long.

Congratulations to you on your anniversary! Vince is a great way to celebrate! We will have our 55th Anniversary end of this month but we have gotten to see Vince twice in Seattle and Las Vegas with his new music and show in the last few months so I'll just remember that for our anniversary although we are going to Hawaii in October and celebrate again. laugh.gif

Congratulations to you!
