Full Version: Johnny Cash's Tour Bus

David and I went to Cleveland this week end to see a NY Yankee ball game. It was closer than going to NY, lol.

Anyway, while there we toured the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was interesting but I would have liked it more if it had been the Country Music Hall of Fame.. Outside the Hall they had Johnny Cash's tour bus. We got to walk through it. That was really impressive. They gave us a paper about the history of the bus. Seems he had it cutom made in 1979. It told about the wood for the cabinets and closets.

He sold the bus in July of 2003 two months after June passed away because he said he couldn't stand to have the bus around once she was gone. It was filled with so many memories of her.

Walking on the bus was the highlight of my trip to the Rock and Roll HOF.

We did see pictures of Johnny inside the HOF and of Bill Monroe and Bob Wills. Monroe and Wills were inducted as early influences.

It was nice but hope to some day see the Country Music HOF. smile.gif

P.S. The Yankees won !!!!!

Deb, That would have been a treat to tour Johnny & June bus.
I had a chance to visit their museum in TN back in the 80's.
Fun to see all those things that are such a part of their legacy in
country music.

Wow, that would be great to go on their bus. I enjoyed the Country Music Hall of Fame and seeing their stuff. I need to go back again and take more time going through it.
