Sean Brady
My name is Sean Brady & I'm the webmaster of a site which is dedicated to Gene Watson. Within the website, there is a page dedicated to Gene's peers within the country music industry.

The purpose of this posting is to make an enquiry as to whether Vince Gill would be interested in providing such a quote about Gene Watson that I may use within my website salute to him. I consider Vince to be a vital member of the country music community, so I would therefore deem it an honour if he would consider such a request.

Please note that my Gene Watson website, which is based in Ireland, is an unofficial one. The site, which has been online since Friday 1st October 2004, is presented simply as a means of honouring Gene, his life & his contribution to country music.

I have received an email from Allen Whitcomb (Gene's manager) & there is a strong possibility that the site may be officially endorsed by the great man himself in the near future. I revamped the site recently and the new version went 'live' on Monday 10 July 2006.

I had the pleasure of meeting Gene & his Farewell Party Band when they toured Ireland in May 2004. I plan to see Gene & the boys on a couple of occasions when they return to our shores in August this year - I can’t wait!

Thank you for your time.

Regards,
Sean Brady

Sean , First , welcome to our club message board . Hope you return often . Very nice of you to build a site to honour Gene . There is an area in Vince's site where you can post questions for Vince. Maybe you could ask there.

I always liked Gene Watson but of course have not heard him for a very long time. Country radio in my State does not do the older artist any justice. We hardly ever hear Vince on radio. There is one station that reaches back in time and plays some of the oldies (in between the barrage of new artist) . I know this goes full circle and each one has their time but it sure would be nice if all the country stations would just fit in some of the history that all new artist build their careers on.
