sad.gif Just wanted to let you all know that my daughter ,Linda, had to have her old kitty put to sleep this morning. He was 15 1/2 and he had kidney failure. His sight went yesterday and this morning so there wasn't anything else she could do for him. We all feel her loss because that kitty loved her more than anything or anyone. This is the second one that she has had to deal with. Her e-mail is indypooh@aol.com . I know she would really appreciate it if you all would send her an e-card or just a little note . When you have the time. Thanks much . Anna

Anna, so sorry to hear about Linda's loss and no matter how old we are or how much we rationalize lfe/death, it's still VERY hard to cope with the total feelings of sadness and loss. I know YOU will be a big comfort to her and how sweet of you to treat this so meaningfully.

Hey Anna...I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's kitty...15 1/2 years is a long time to have a furry member of the family...and I know when it's time for them to leave us, it hurts like the dickens...I'm sure Ty-Ty is in a better place now, tho...only time will help to heal the pain and loss...

Y'all probably don't remember about my little Pekingese,Gizmo .It's been 4 and 1/2 years since I lost him and as hard as it is to take your pet to the Dr. and have them put to sleep,I really wish I had done that for Gizzy. He died of congestive heart failure and layed all day while I was at work. The Dr. told me he had 2 years and he lived 1and 1/2 years and was fairly good but it just broke my heart when I came home and found him. He was one of the biggest joys in my life.
I would love to have another Peke but there would never be one as gentle and sweet as Gizzy. A dog has to be walked and I don't have a fenced yard so I now have a very spoiled kitty. His name is Tarbaby(black as coal,10 white hairs on his tummy(maybe 11). I was telling him about Ty-Ty being in heaven with Gizzy and Ceazar. Just a bit nutz out here. biggrin.gif
The other kitty that we had forever(he always ,really belonged to Linda) had cancer. Linda's Dad found him while rabbit hunting .His ears were full of mites and he was about 5 or 6 weeks old. Cutest baby.Bright blue eyes. He had a very long, wonderful life (not without problems) 21 or 22 years that cat lived. When Linda moved from home she took him and dragged that cat all over the U.S.A. I think he held the distinction of having been the only cat that ever pottied on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah .

Linda and her family were all so upset yesterday but these things happen and you recover but you never forget these special little people you take responsibility for when you decide to take on a pet. I know most of us have pets or have had them and I thank you for your kind words.

Anna, I'm so sorry to hear about Lindas cat. It is so hard to lose someone who has been a part of the family for so long. Hope she is doing ok!

Yes Anna...we've lost 3 dogs since Bruce and I married back in 1988...and they don't get any easier. We still remember when we had to put our first dog, Princess, a full blooded rottweiler, down...she was 11 1/2 years old, and that's old for a rotty, and she developed problems keeping food down...after we let them run all of the tests on her in the hopes of finding something to make her better, we brought her home and kept her for 3 or 4 more days to say goodbye...hardest thing I ever had to do was be there when they put her down, but I felt I owed it to her..she was such a wonderful dog...we're 'rotty people' and we always will be...although we love our yellow lab, Chloe and our mini dachshund, Sugar just drives us nuts!!! Our rotty now is Duke...he's only part rotty, but he's a sweetie...and he gets along wonderfully with Chloe and Sugar...

Tell Linda we are thinking of her...

So sorry to here about your daughter's dear TyTy. Losing a pet can be so painful! Our house is still very lonely without Vinnie, our golden retriever. We had to put him down on Jan. 2.
Prayers to Linda.

biggrin.gif O.K. Ready for another story? When we got our old kitty Ceazar.(My spelling.) My girls couldn't agree on a name for him. They were pretty young and Linda was always ,like Osmonds,Bobby Sherman ,you know normal music? So she wanted a normal name. More common. Debbie who went extreme opposite,Kiss ,Queen, Alice Cooper (get my drift?) She wanted something out of another world. I told them that the cat would remain "cat" until they could agree. One night we were watching the movie,Julius Caesar, so that is how they came to terms on a name. Fast forward 20 or so years and Ceazar had to leave us and they picked a kitten from a picture at the Dr. office. Linda called to tell me they had the kitten at home but didn't know what to name him. One of my friends was with me and he said tell her to call him Tiberius .I though that was different and he explained that Tiberius was the second Caesar................So Ty-Ty for short . Pretty neat.

Gizmo came to me as Gizmo. He was 2 or 3 and he answered to any number of variations of Gizmo. Giz,Gizzy.Momo,Molini. Tarbaby came as Tarbaby also. I call him crybaby. He answers to nothing biggrin.gif . Moves when he's ready and you call him ..............he takes a message and gets back to you when he needs food. We get really creative .

Linda is doing o.k. She said it comes and goes. They have 2 other cats. Pouncer was going to go to Mexico to a friend's Grandma had several dogs and cats. Linda said no way.Pouncer looks like a P.T. Cruiser. When she has her feet curled underneath her she is square . Funny kitty but very pretty. Black and white. Alexis just happened in the yard one day. Spayed, declawed, starving and thirsty, black with a skin condition . They tried everything to find her people or a home. She kept asking Lexie if she had a home and my son-in-law kept saying, Yeah, here. My grand daughter named her . My grand daughter has never lived without a cat. Ceazar was in house when Anna was born.

My Debbie has Felix. Fee for short .Now is that not different ? smile.gif This is the far out daughter smile.gif Fee likes the closet. He is neurotic. Objects scare him. The Christmas tree was a real killer for him. He's better now. Debbie also used to have an iguana (8 years)(name) ? Iggy of course . It was first thought that Iggy was a boy. Then it developed a problem and the Dr. found SHE had 18 eggs. No male so Iggy had a hysterectomy. Fee and Iggy used to sleep together. It was pretty neat to witness. She gave Iggy to the critter sitter's son. All is well there. I have so many stories and I am sorry to go on so long but one leads to another. You guys are great to put up with this smile.gif Thanks

Don't need any kitties down here, Pam...we've got lots that roam the neighborhood already!!! And they drive our dogs crazy out in the fenced backyard...bet they are cute little kitties tho!!!

It's been so hot here lately that I've been bringing our 3 into the mud room to stay during the day...even tho I keep the deck door open and they stay on the deck to stay out of the sun, it's still so hot out there...makes me feel bad for them..so they are inside sharing the A/C right now!!!

Great one, Pam *ROTFL*.
