Full Version: Guitar Pick from Casper, Wyoming Concert
The Nineteenth Hole > The Nineteenth Hole > The Main Room

I was fortunate enough to see Vince and Amy here in Casper, Wyoming on September 1st. A spectacular evening filled with great music and entertainment. I had second row seats and after the concert I noticed a few people going up to the edge of the stage and waiting for something. It soon dawned on me that they were there to get the picks off the mic stands from the crew members. So I stood their with them and was lucky enough to be handed a guitar pick from Amy's mic stand. The front of the pick says "Planet Waves" and the back has a signature on it. It was kind of difficult to make out but I was pretty sure it didn't read "Amy Grant". I showed it to a friend of mine and she said it might be Vince's signature because it looked like a V at the beginning. So I Googled "Vince Gill Autograph" on the Internet and sure enough it's Vince's signature on the back of the pick! I'm going to hang onto it and put it with my other concert memorabilia from year's past....various artists. I have a guitar pick from Randy Scruggs (my first at the age of 6 or 7!). I save all my ticket stubs from concerts, too. So this pick will be a nice addition. Does anyone else have one from Vince's concerts? Or I should ask...."what do you have from Vince's concerts?"

Fun, huh? smile.gif

I have several of Vince's pics and many set lists, one which was autographed later that evening by Vince. I think my most prized possession I have is a backstage photo of Vince and Amy loving on and playing with my two grand-daughters, who were 5 and 2 at the time. The 5 year-old announced to everyone after the show that she was going to marry "Mr. Bince". I LOVE that particular picture! My next prized photo is my 3 generation photo of me, my daughter and my two grand-daughters with Vince and Amy. THAT IS DEFINITELY A KEEPER! smile.gif

I have so many great memories. I've met Vince oh, probably 12 times, and I've been to 38 concerts! He's the real deal!

I have a pair of Vince's "guitary pick" earrings with his signature. Does that count?

Bestamaw....what wonderful memories!!! I'm jealous! biggrin.gif How did you get to meet Vince 12 times? He seems like such a wonderful person, as does Amy. This was only my second Vince concert and my second Amy concert. I hope there will be many more to follow. I loved your story about "Mr. Bince." I'd love to see those photos you have! smile.gif

It is so super fun to get a guitar pick!!! I have 3 guitar picks....I love them!!! I also have 4 set lists which one just got signed by Vince last Saturday when I was lucky enough to meet him for the second time!!! My most prized Vince item is a picture of me and Vince that he also just signed for me on Saturday!!! That is for sure going up on the wall tongue.gif
There is nothing better than being at a Vince concert.....getting to take a little something home like a pick or a set list is icing on the cake!!!

Wow, Krissie, that's great! How do you get a set list? Same way as a guitar pick? I'd love to meet Vince someday and have my photo taken with him. I think he's just wonderful as is Amy. Just two great people on top of being superior talents. I'd go to their concerts every day if I could! biggrin.gif
