I just saw three more Vince Gill Shows. Saturday at the Greek, Sunday in Indio & Monday in Prescott,Arizona. The Greek show is always tough. It's a L.A. crowd & they are usually tough to impress because we have the chance to see so many artists every night. Alot of places in the U.S. people look forward to the "big show" next month. In L.A. you have to decide every night which show you are going to go see. The crowd was bigger & more responsive than the Grand Ol' Opry show that came through here last time at the Greek. You have to remember Vince was here less than a year ago too at the Wiltern on th"These Days" Tour. Indio was so hot that I didn't even want to hang by the pool. It was 106 degrees. But knowing Vince as we do it shouldn't surprise us that HE STILL GOLFED!!!! Prescott (pronounced Press kit) was beautiful. Especially at night. The weather was perfect. The gig was in a brand new hockey arena. This crowd was by far the best. It was my case in point re: an L.A. crowd. Shows don't come through this town every night so when they get a show that is as as diverse & top notch from top to bottom as this they go nuts!!! I don't know if most of you people know how great of a band Vince has. John Hobbs & Michael Rhodes are both first call session cats. Jeff White plays with Lyle Lovett & the Chieftans. Tom Britt is a slide playing fool. Pete Wasner has been with Vince since his days at the World famous Palimino in North Hollywood in the early eighties. He has written songs for Garth Brooks & John Waite. Billy Thomas is a great drummer & singer. He has divided his time between the legendary classic rock band The Little River Band & Vince for the past couple of years. Al Anderson goes way back to the iconic rock band NRBQ & has become a first rate Nashville songwriter. Jenny Gill has blossomed into a fine singer & seems very comfortable in front of a crowd now. All in all I'm glad I went to all three shows but I'm glad to be back home. I didn't realize it until my ride to the Phoenix Airport reminded me I was flying on 9/11. But everthing was great.

Hey, glad you made all three shows and had fun! John and I totally agree with your assessment of the band, they are a big part of the reason that we love to listen to Vince play. They are an awesome band, and a bunch of really nice people as well. Dawn Sears is a member of The Time Jumpers, a Western Swing band that plays Monday night gigs in Nashville at the Station Inn. John Huey, who used to play steel for Vince, is also part of the Time Jumpers. We have not ever been in Nashville on a Monday to hear them play but Billy Thomas told John and I that we really need to catch their show.
Now we all have Vince withdrawal..LOL except lucky Becky who is going to the fund raiser at the Hall of Fame later this month that Vince and Amy are doing. I reserved a couple of tickets but the timing is so bad for us, with the show on a Thursday night, that I had to cancel them. But I know Becky will tell us all about it!
