I guess this is the next single since it's playing on the "home page" and in Robert K. Ommerman(sp _ calls it the "disc of the day" in the article on the home page.

It's a great song....I really never thought it was a "single"....well I never put it in my top 3 or 4 etc (but MCA is loads smarter than I am)

, let's hope it catches on....Vince deserves airplay and a "hit"!!!!!

It's a beautiful song, one that never fails to take my breath away when I hear it.

It's a wonderful song, one of my favorites. The singing and the guitar playing are amazing. But I would imagine this would be a tough song to sing live. I don't think Vince has done it live yet.

It's already on the All About Country website's "new releases" list.

I'm pretty sure Vince performed this last year when he was doing the tour for the boxed set. We saw him in Louisville in October, and if I'm not mistaken, he sang all of the new songs. He made a couple of comments about he shouldn't write such "high" pitched songs, and then try to perform them after "partaking of the local food favorites." (In the Louisville show he was remembering one of the local pizza joints.) Kay S.

I can't agree more! I love this song! It is so darn lonely! I love Vince's sad songs, and this one is super sad. I really really really hope it does well!

While I also hope the single does well...I for one will NOT get my radio play hopes up too high...let's face it...in the last 10 years or so....Vince has not gotten the radio airplay we all feel he deserves and his singles "average" about a peak of #30....So if "How lonely Looks" does better than #30 I'll be somewhat happy. That won't change the fact I'll request it as often as I can and be optimistic "this" is the one to get him a radio hit (another one - finally!)...(hasn't it been seven years since the last "Top 10"??? Sad (for radio listeners!) JMHO Charlie

What is radio's current criteria? A sixpack and ripped biceps? I thank God that my husband introduced me to Vince at a concert because you are right that I wouldn't have been currently exposed to his music via the radio. Too bad for all the people who are missing out. I am doing my share and dragging three friends to Nashville to the Hall of Fame concert and am introducing them to Vince. ROADTRIP! I really really really hope he plays "How Lonely Looks" live.

Good job Dawn
Criteria?
I would suppose it's all a corporate radio thing based on surveys they do for their "target" audience. They seek a younger, mostly female audience....I guess when they do their "demographics" and figure out the playlist...Vince (and many other "older" stars are no longer on this list).
Also, playlists have really shrunk over the last 10 years. So we hear the same 7 or 8 (current "in") stars 7 or 8 times a day. I would say only a "Top 10" song really gets saturation airplay anymore....variety has declined, a lot of the music seems like a formula to me that's churned out to meet radio's expectations of what they will play. Hope that makes sense...and yes all JMHO.

I really really love this song too... the emotion he wrings from each phrase is incredible. So beautiful! I'm kinda surprised, though, that this was picked for the next single. It seems more "Adult Contemporary" to me than Country... which leads me to ask something I've always wanted to ask -- why doesn't MCA let some of these songs be released to the AC chart, like Martina, Rascal Flats, Keith Urban, TIm McGraw, Faith and Leann and others? They have had great success on these other charts. Since Country has lately written Vince off, why not let him be heard in another format??
