Vince's new single was the "Rate the new song of the day" on our local country station yesterday.

There were callers that commented on how it reminded them of The Eagles.

I e-mailed back and forth with the DJ and rated it a "5" being the top score and also reminded him of Vince singing on the "Common Thread" Eagles tribute.

They don't post what the final results were, but it was just nice to hear Vince on the radio and knowing they have this new single.

Vince Gill is one of them. I am never, ever going to get over being a total fan of this musical titan’s talents. He moves me on every level—as a songwriter, as a vocalist, as an instrumentalist and as a human being. The Disc of the Day, “How Lonely Looks,” towers above everything else I heard this week. Just as its maker towers above almost all of his contemporaries. He may be going into the Hall of Fame, but his These Days collection deserves a here-and-now award as the Album of the Year.

—From the very first deep-twang note, I was completely smitten by this slow-groove soul ballad. As if his angelic vocal and divine melody weren’t enough, his guitar solos are pure poetry. An amazing performance and recording. "

-----I don't know who Robert K. Oermann is except that he is a talented writer and has even better taste in musicians.

I sincerely hope that when "How Lonely Looks" is released as a single on Oct. 8 that it gets lots of airplay, attention and moves way up on the charts.

I am a new fan of Vince's and there is a whole crop of people out there like me who haven't heard Vince's music and won't unless radio plays him now. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to him in concert. I was blown away by his talent and artistry. It would be awesome for radio to play him now for new and old fans alike, and even better for fans yet to be.

"How Lonely Looks" is one of the most beautiful saddest songs I have ever heard, and a treat to the ears. Way to go Vince!

Vince's music deserves current exposure, and people who don't know him or know him now should have a chance to hear his music. Go radio, go!
