Did any of you there happen to spot yourselves on TV tonight? And if so, during whose performance did you spot yourself? I was trying to see if I could spot any of you guys on there, especially Pam & Cathy...
LeahCanada
I just watched the special...it was quite good although I wish they would have shown more of the events around town and not just the Coliseum shows.
Didn't see myself or anyone else I knew...but it did bring back great memories for a wonderful trip. biggrin.gif

That's the only problem when they do the shows for TV...they really don't show enough of what goes on around town during the week. I didn't even care for some of the performers they had on there tonight...would have rather have seen more of LeAnn Rimes and less of Jason Aldean...could have done without Wynonna and Leonard Sknyard and instead they could have shown some of the Riverfront shows or even some more of the autograph sessions. One of these days I am going to get to Fan Fair and do the whole FF thing...I do know that if Vince has a FC party next year, I'm going to be there one way or another and meet all of you guys!!!
Anna Leighton
When did they show the CMA Musicfest?

Valerie, you have to come to the party .........if there is one. I sure am hoping he has one.

On Sunday night, Houston showed a 30-minute segment of "Here for the Party", which was a teaser for all to watch the Monday night special. One of our ABC local anchormen was in Nashville filming. YEP, he interviewed me, and YEP, I was on his Sunday night 30-minute special. It was during the Clay Walker Fan Club Party when he interviewed me. He asked me what all of the exciting things I had been doing during the week. Well, this was right after the lunch with Vince. The interview was a good one so he put it in his special. YUK - I looked and sounded like I was so tired ---- ya think! smile.gif It was kinda okay. I didn't say anything stupid to embarrass myself or my family. My youngest sister has asked for my "autograph" now that I'm a "local celeb"! smile.gif Too funny! I didn't make it on the Monday night special - thank goodness!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I would have LOVED to have seen that interview, Cathy!!!

Anna, the show was on ABC last night from 8-10pm CT. It will probably re-air on CMT at some point.

We watched the show too..it was pretty good..except that in some cases, they cut some of the performers songs...I noticed that they didn't even play all of Sara Evans' song...and I was hoping that they would show some of the fan club parties and other events that they consider CMA MusicFest around town...so many of us just come to town for the special shows and don't buy MusicFest tickets...and there is always so much to do...I wish they would take the time to show the other things going on so that people that have never been could get a true picture of all the things there are to do during the week and not just the coliseum shows...it was nice to see some of the coliseum acts tho, since we didn't catch them this year...
Charlene
I thought the show was pretty good....I liked them all....

I would have liked to have seen other happenings around the city tho!!! Not just the Coliseum, wow that place gets packed....C'est Incroyable....But the thrill, must be fantastic!!!

Brad paisley and that tour bus, hostage takeover...must have been blast...Lucky for them!!!! that was cute.....

I did enjoy Wynonna, but I always liked her....Martina belted it out..Sara Evans, cute as ever..I agree, they could have left out alot,,and replaced it with something better.....Yeah of course Brooks & Dunn were great....lol....they're not human!!!! They never screw up.... laugh.gif .....

Loved It!!!! What Kenney Chesney did for those 2 girls....Unbelievable...they must have died and went to heaven....lol...I believe my sister just bought tickets to see him sometime soon in Georgia, where she lives....

I remember yrs ago, when they had TNN as a real channel....lol...they use to air so much at FF....Parites, Peoples, Shows, FC Parties, The WHOLE baseball game.....etc....etc... Someone really needs to create another channel like that again....The way country music has taken over, I bet it would do very well in the ratings...I think when TNN was taken over so rudely....lol....Country music was just turning that corner of mainstream...This country music style has changed dramatically since the days of TNN, they should have hung in there a bit longer...

Oh Charlene:

My sister and I were scheduled for a bus tour, and at the last minute, we cancelled because my sister was too tired! NOW, I will always wonder if the bus that was "hijacked" by Brad was the tour we were to have been on! DANG IT! That would have been so fun!

I'm not TRYING to be a pessimist, but I think the concert coverage wasn't all that great...it's not a "true" picture of what happens during the week/end. I don't like that they pick the same certain ones to sing more than one song. In my opinion, Martina was the best received by the crowd. She's the ONLY person who received a standing ovation that stayed standing through three songs. Most were good, but Skynard could have been cut, and I didn't care for Wynonna's song that they played.

I would LOVE to see a special about all the other things that happened during the week, too. I liked the Kenny Chesney story!! A fanclub party special would be cool. The softball game highlights should be on tv again, and they should showcase some more of the Riverfront shows. Although, Suzanne Alexander did a week after ff of shows from the bridge and they were good, but mostly just interviews, no performances. I guess it's just not the same as being there!!

And I'm SURE I saw myself in the crowd at least three or four times--Didn't y'all see me in the crowd during the aerial shots of the stadium??? I was wearing a red shirt...or was it blue? Hehe!!

Did y'all see the family they interviewed and then introduced to Martina? Pam, did you recognize them? They were sitting a few rows in front of us during the shows each night, and had a gaggle of kids with them. The one little girl was left at the seats with an uncle or friend, and she was NOT HAPPY about that!! I don't know why she was left behind, but she was just a basket case by the time they came back!!

Anna Leighton
Well,I didn't see any of this one but I totally agree with you Mary. I've seen them in the past. I know how they do them.

Still haven't come down from the radio yet
Becky
Well, since you opened THAT can of worms, Mary...LOL!!!

Here's what bothered me most about what they conveyed to the television audience about the nightly coliseum concerts...and that was that these neat things happen, like you just get randomly picked to go backstage and meet the performer you love the most...haha..that's a laugh...don't they think that the their viewing audience knows better??? If that has ever happened before them doing this show, so that they could put it on tv, then someone please tell me when it happened. We ALL know that was just for the sake of the show and that things like that don't happen at the coliseum...at least they didn't when Bruce & I were there...and one year, we had 2nd row floor seats..if they had come and grabbed someone out of the first few rows around us, we would have known it...even in past years, when they filmed some of the performances, they staged the people in the crowd that they wanted to put on video...it's all done just for tv...they focused on some girls sitting behind us and they pulled them off to the side and said, 'now when this happens we want you to do this and say this or yell that'...it got sickening after a while because it was all so 'staged' and 'fake'...the television shows would be so much better if they would just go about their business showing people having a good time and not coach them as to what to do for the cameras...and even tho it was nice of Kenny Chesney to let those 2 girls ride in his private jet back from NYC to Nashville..do you think that would have happened if it hadn't been for the sake of ABC wanting to televise it??? Come on, give me a break!!!!

I have to say that it would be nice if they had a bunch of people walking around and just shooting video of people at fan club parties, at charity events and all the other events and just let people be natural and show them having a good time...I'm afraid this show gave everyone the impression that if they go to fan fair next year, they'll have a chance to go backstage at the coliseum and meet people...it just did NOT portray a REAL CMA Musicfest experience in my opinion...it was a nice show, but all that extra 'stuff' was done for the sake of a television show and never would have happened if they weren't doing that special...

Guess I've preached enough on this one...

Becky
Well Carrie Ann..this show was aired on ABC, so I don't know whether either CMT or GAC will ever get the rights to play it...guess we'll just have to wait and see...it's possible...
Charlene
Yeah who cares, if it was for TV or not,,, wink.gif Those girls got the dream chance of a lifetime.....I'm sure they don't care....lol...My sister lovesssssssssssssssssssss him, lol....She wouldn't have complained at all..... rolleyes.gif

TAC
My favorite parts of the show were when Brad P. was on the tour bus and Kenny's segment with the two fans flying on his airplane and singing together.
(I've got tickets to see Kenny next week, last year when he was here that was when he had just hurt his leg so he sat on a stool most of the show...I'm sure he will be hopping around more this time! LOL)

Becky
Have fun at the concert, TC!!! Let us know how it goes, k???

I'm really late in replying but....I didn't see myself or Rob in the Music Fest coverage but I was on the Opry and on Country Across America at Montgomery Gentry's Fan Club Party. Sorry no autographs! LOL j/k

I am late responding too. I too wish they would spend a little more time on how much fun we have around town. They barely did anything in the Exhibit Hall. I too wish they had done a little more at the River stages and gave some of those artists more national exposure. They seem to concentrate on the super stars. I still really enjoy watching it all. I think they could of left out all that special treatmeant when people went back stage, etc and concentrated more on day time stages, etc. Sitting in the sun, sweating, and truely enjoying good music!
They showed my little neice four times in the audience at the night time concerts. She was the ten year old with straight black hair. They showed her swaying, showed her close up one time for several seconds. Everytime they showed her it was zoomed in on just her and maybe some of the teen girls. I was standing beside her but I always stepped back. They filmed her alot. She was so into it all week. She was always dancing, singing, etc. We were in the walk way. She was filmed so much that I was pretty sure they would use some of it. One time they showed part of my sis Little Bitty (Karen) standing beside her.
Charlene
I just think we need to run things...... biggrin.gif

Things would be so much better.... tongue.gif

Hi Valerie, I have been MIA fro a while. I just saw this thread. I got to see half of myself. But my 10 year old granddaughter was on there 4 times. I was so glad she was. They were filming her every night and she would have been so disappointed if she didn't' make the cut. She was a little disapointed they didnt' show her when BRC was on, as she had a made a sign and they got in close and filmed it., but they didn't show any of his show. It was SO neat seeing her there.

I remember this about TNN, we need something like this again. There is so much more to FF than just the night time concerts. In fact I see some of the best shows at The Riverfront.
