Found out some stations that have already put "The Reason Why" into "rotation". They are:

KFTX Corpus Christie, TX
WESC- Greenville, SC
WXTU- Philadelphia
KKNG- Oklahoma City
WFBE- Flint, MI
KTTS-Springfield, MO

Are some of them broadcasting online, too? We don't have many radio stations who plays Country music. That's so so sad. You know I'm from Germany. I wanna here this song, too.

I know for a fact WXTU broadcasts online. Not sure about the others, but you can always go to the radio station's website and see if there's a link to click in order to listen.

Another station that broadcasts online, but hasn't added the song yet, is WACO100. They play a good variety of both old and new country, and at noon CT, they have an hour of all oldies...mostly anything before 1990.

I'd bet Phoenix would be the last if at all. I don't know today .I am still upset and don't have the radio turned on. It's just to darn hot here to get any hotter.

Mary Ann (others)...I am confused. Is the new single officially released? I read it is entering at #56 but see no mention of it on this web site other than these boards. I also follow R&R and did not see it as "going for adds" lately. I would whink this website will (should) have news about the single and maybe a snippet of the song.

Any information would be appreciated.

Frst off, good to see you posting again. The single actually goes for adds next Monday- August 7th. But, as always, some stations are playing it ahead of its "release date". Vince has also called in to some radio stations to do interviews.

I hope you live in a part of the country that radio is Vince friendly(that is as far as the music and radio play) I know the DJ's really don't have that much to say about what gets played and it's not really a personal thing against Vince . Just the way the cookie crumbles . Unfortunately

One good sign is that the stations seem to be playing the song during the day and evening hours- when people can hear it-not in the "overnight" time slot.

Well..nice to know that the new song is getting some airplay somewhere in Tennessee!!! I would think that at least the TN stations would be giving the new song a whirl or two!!! I'd probably faint if you ever added a B'ham station to this list...!!!

Can you pick up the Phila station WXTU-92.5 where you are? I can get it down here in the Lehigh Valley. I've heard the song once on that station, and wow, my heart just skips a beat. Can't wait to hear the rest of them.

Thank Thank You for posting a link for people to hear the new song. I haven't had a chance to listen to XM and my local stations probably will never play it. That was just a little teaser and now I want more. If that's anything like what the whole box set is going to be like Vince definitely has a winner on his hands. It's a really neat song. I too thought it was rather short (about 2 minutes 35 seconds). I love the song but I noticed there is no Vince guitar solo and at the end he sings the refrain "The Reason Why" twice....I was almost expecting a third reason why at the end. If he had a short guitar solo etc and the added reason why it would be more of the usual 3 minute to 3 and a half minute song.

That said, I love it anyway. It seems to be more piano/keyboard/drums driven song (maybe because one of his producers is a keyboardist).

I too hope radio will embrace this beautiful song....but a las I will not hold my breath. I would imagine we will get to hear Bodakadok, a summertime song from Kenney etc. 20 times a day on today's radio (no offense to Kenny or Trace)....just tired of same old songs repeated over and over with a playlist of about 10 songs... Good thing for satellite, online, AOL, and good ol' CD's!

I must have too much time on my hands!
But I checked out the song length for every country song currently in Billboard Top 10: No song is less than 3:27 and the average is about:3:45 to 3:55 (almost 4 minutes as I go beyond the Top 10 as well).

So Vince's new song at 2:45 is definately about a minute shorter than most songs out there.

Does anyone else have the feeling of a 60's dance song beat when you listen to this song??? I absolutely love it!!! It has a lovely melody, but it so reminds me of a 60's beat!!! It's a beautiful love ballad...would love to hear this on my local station sometime...I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!

They sure do Anna! I was just wondering that since they harmonize so well together.

I have not heard the song in the Portland area but just started listening to local radio again. I hope it catches on with the record execs and what they decide to add to their playlists....(I often think we really have very little say in what gets played).

Good news is that Vince will be in Portland in the near future.

So far, we haven't heard it on either of our country stations in Charlotte, NC. No hype about it either, unfortunately. Just don't understand.

I'm eager to hear the bluegrass songs. I predict the bluegrass genre will be very receptive. My husband listens to public radio all the time, and he says they play lots of bluegrass songs/ collaborations that Vince has done in the past.

I love this song so much that I logged Mandy out so I could log myself in and "express myself". Everyone pray I can get Mandy logged back in correctly.

We won't stop requesting but I agree with you in that we seem to have very little say. I think this is true for the deejays also. Our most prominent Charlotte deejay is a Vince fan, and when I told him to "PLEASE play more Vince", he replied that he would if he could but that it was all up to the "powers that be". Not very encouraging.

Hey Sandy, ask your dj who the 'powers that be' are and then how you can get in touch with them..LOL!!! I've heard the 'powers that be' around here as well, and have even talked to the Program Director at the local radio station..now if his hands are also tied, then who is making up the playlists??? That's what I thought a Program Director did...am I not right???

I'm not picky at all...if ANY radio station in my area will play Vince's songs, that will be the station I listen to!!!
