Happened to see Bob Segar new CD had a song on it called "Real Mean Bottle" (CD is out next month) ....did a little research and found it is a cover of Vince's song:

Seger & Rock Record
This past Friday(3/4), Bob Seger and Kid Rock recorded a duet of the song "Real Mean Bottle" for Seger's upcoming album, his first of all-new material in a decade. Like most of us, Kid Rock has been a longtime Seger fan. But unlike us, Kid also got to induct Bob into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame last year! The song they recorded together was written by country star Vince Gill for his 2003 album "Next Big Thing."

I also saw Bob Segar has a duet with Patty Loveless as well.

Seegar and Loveless ? That should be interesting. Did you get a name of the song?

(Not sure how a Kid Rock/Segar duet will sound with Real Mean Bottle but I will take a listen for curiosity sake And if Bob releases it as a single it can only be a good thing for Vince. (Seems to me he would release it as a single if he did it with the Kid)....

CB, I really don't know to much about Segar'music other than Old Time Rock and Roll,which is one of my all time favorite songs. I love to dance to it. As for Kid Rock ,I had never heard anything he did until him and Sheryl Crow did Picture. I really liked that one too. I think Real Mean Bottle will be good but certainly don't expect them to do it as good as Vince .It would be great if it were released as a single. Patty Loveless is awesome so anything she works on has to be fantastic. Maybe I'll go looking for Segar's new cd.

It will be interesting to see what Bob Seger and Kid Rock do with 'Real Mean Bottle' ...I'll definitely be checking out the clip to that one!!!

Just to remind everybody that Vince is also on the recording, maybe playing guitar, not sure. They recorded it in Nashville a year ago. It was mentioned in the Tennessean about it. I believe Vince was quoted as saying it wasn't anything like he did it. It really rocked so we may not even recognize it when we hear it.

It seems Vince and Bob have become friends. They met on the golf course at some golf event. I wouldn't be surprised it Bob hooked up with Patty through Vince.

I also like the song that Kid Rock and Cherl Crow did. I'm sure they won't sound as good doing that song as our Vince did !!!!! for sure.

I am looking forwarad to this Bob Seger cd. I have been a long time fan of Seger's and I will pick up this cd in September.

Is anyone else hearing Bob Seger's new song on the country stations in your area? He has a new ballad-y type song out, and it's being played on all our country stations here. I guess it's because there isn't any other type of genre to play Seger's music on!! So, we may be hearing "Real Mean Bottle" on the country stations after all.

Kid Rock and Bob Seger are both from Michigan. Kid is actually from the town where I live now, but they don't do much to brag about him. It's not like there's a "Home of Kid Rock" sign as you come into town!!
