I ordered A Sylvia CD and got it the other day. It has most of her hits on it. Does any one rember her? I wonder what ever happened to her? I really liked her and her music. She came to our county fair in the late seventies or early eighties, when she was just starting out. I think Snapshot was her hit single at the time. Just wondered if anyone remember her?
countrycrazy
I remember her. I always liked her song "Nobody." I was in middle school when that song was a hit.
Deb
That song is on the CD. Wasn't she a secretary in a music office or something and was discovered? I can't remember for sure but I wish she would have continued with her music career. I know when I saw her at the fair she was really a sweet person too.

I used to love Sylvia and knew all the words to 'Nobody' all those years ago..I keep saying that I'm going to order a Sylvia cd sometime...I miss that song..no one ever plays it anymore...I haven't a clue what she is doing now...

Would you mind sharing which cd you bought, Deb??? I'd love to have the one with 'Nobody' on ....'you're Nobody called today'...well, that's all I can remember of the song now...but that was what, 25 years ago or something like that??? I'm lucky to remember that much of it!!!

Deb
Sure Becky, its' Sylvia---Anthology. It has 24 songs on it. It has I think all of her hits on it and then songs like Drifter, Tumbleweed on it. I ordered it from Amazon. I'm listening to it now. I think I wore my Kenny Rogers CD out, lol..

I definitely remember her Deb. I do think she was a secretary or something like that, and was discovered. But, then it seems like she just kind of disappeared.

Oh wow! A blast from the past. I forgot all about Sylvia. I remember liking her songs way back when I was in my early teens. I think the song "Nobody" was probably her biggest hit.

ohmy.gif I have googled and froogled and looked all over for her and all I can find is the song Nobody and she was from Kokomo ,Indiana. Right up the road from where I lived for 25 years. I am going to do some research to see if I can find what happened to her . I thought she was so beautiful,so different looking. Will post if I find anything .
Pam Dalton
I have no idea who she is unsure.gif I guess back then I only listened to rock, seldom country, and never pop music (still don't do pop!) Was she pop or country?
Anna Leighton
She was classified as country Pam but she (in my searches has also been referred to as a one hit wonder). Her only song that I remember was Nobody.

I remember the song "Nobody" really well...it was a popular song. I also remember the song "Snapshot" being played on the radio but I don't think it did as well as "Nobody".

I do Deb! She was a really good singer. There was one song she did - can't remember the name, but I believe it was about a man she loved who married someone else or something along those lines. Do you remember?

Deb
I think you might be thinking of the song Sweet Yesterdays, Debbie. Not sure though, there are several on the CD that you could be thinking of.

Anna, I hope you can find some information on her. I thought she really had a big future in country music but maybe she decided she didn't want one. It would just be interesting to find out.
Debbie O. Fennell
Thanks Deb! I'll have to listen to a little of the song and see if I remember it. I remember the video more and I remember it was very sad.
