Sugar Hill Records founder Barry Poss, legendary New Orleans producer/songwriter/musician Allen Toussaint and renowned guitarist Kenny Vaughan will join Rodney Crowell and Alejandro Escovedo as recipients of Lifetime Achievement Awards to be presented at the 5th Annual Americana Honors & Awards on Fri., Sept. 22 at the Ryman Auditorium. Poss will be presented the Jack Emerson Lifetime Achievement Award for Executive from Sam Bush. Presenting Toussaint with the Lifetime Achievement Award for the new Producer/Engineer category will be Elvis Costello. Marty Stuart will present the new Lifetime Achievement Award for Instrumentalist to his Fabulous Superlatives bandmate Kenny Vaughan. Vince Gill will present Rodney Crowell with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting, while Alejandro Escovedo will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for Performing.

Awwww! I bet Vince is tickled to death to be able to present this award to Rodney. Vince said at one time, "That's the best friend I got right there". Bet Rodney will be just as pleased to have Vince present it to him.

Will this event be on tv or does anyone know. It's cool Vince is presenting to Rodney. Sounds great

Anna, was looking around at the GAC website. It seems they carried the 2005 Awards show, they are replaying it this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed, hopefully they will carry this year's award show. I'll let you know if I see anything about 2006.

Debbie, that's the replay of last year's show. The 2006 show isn't until Sept. Don't want anybody to be confused and expect to see Vince on those dates.
